1800-102-2727The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, also known as HPBOSE is the education board in Himachal Pradesh. The HP Board of School Education was founded in the year 1969 as per Himachal Pradesh Act No. 14 of 1968 with its headquarters at Shimla, but later it was shifted to Dharamshala in January 1983. At present, over 8000 schools are affiliated with the Board. The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education sets up 1650 examination centres for over 500,000 examinees every year. Himachal Board of School Education is also responsible for conducting the board exams for Classes 10 and 12.

The primary function of HP Board of school education Dharamshala is to prepare the syllabus for the students, creating academic programs, prescribing courses, and conducting exams for secondary school students in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
Himachal Board of School Education conducts exams for Class 10, Class 12, J.B.T, and T.T.C. Around 5 Lakh students appear in the examination every year conducted by HP Board. HPBOSE has its jurisdiction from elementary level to senior secondary level. Himachal Board of School Education also provides books for all Classes from 1st standard to 12th standard.
The HPBOSE designs the syllabus for all the classes and schools affiliated to the board. The affiliated schools must strictly follow the syllabus designed by the board. The updated and detailed HP board syllabus for all the classes can be checked from the official website when released.
Himachal Pradesh Board will declare the HPBOSE Class 10 and Class 12 results 2023 for the arts, commerce, and science stream probably in the last week of May 2023. The results will be announced on the official website- hpbose.org.
Question 1. What are the passing marks out of 50 in HPBOSE board exams?
Answer: For art, music, and computer science, the marks allotted for practicals are 35, 60, and 50, respectively. Candidates who were absent in the first and second terms besides the pre-board exam will be given only 33 marks as pass marks
Question 2. What are weightage marks in HPBOSE 12th?
Answer: The Objective Criteria formulated by the HPBOSE is a mix of performance of students in previous classes (10th & 11th having weightage of 25 Marks) as well as the performance of students in various assessments/Exams of 12th Class (1st Term, 2nd Term, Pre Board and Annual English Paper having 60 Marks) while computing the final result.
Question 3. Are the HP board exams 2023 cancelled?
Answer: Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, HPBOSE Class 12 Board Exams 2023 will not be cancelled. There has been no official notification by the board yet.
Question 4. What is the policy by HPBOSE for Class 10 Board results?
Answer: According to the policy, the subject-wise marks distribution has been divided into seven categories that comprise the Class 9 result of the student, Class 10 first and second term exams, pre-board result, paper of one subject , internal assessment and practical marks.
