Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1997. Five years of age relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates, i.e., these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1992.
A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

Candidates who are foreign nationals have a different set of JEE Advanced eligibility criteria. Those candidates who are not citizens of India or whose parents are not of Indian origin are considered foreign nationals. Additionally, candidates who do not belong to the OCI/PIO category are also included in the category of foreign nationals.

Question 1. What is the eligibility for JEE Advanced?
Answer. Candidates who are among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates in JEE Main examination are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced examination. More details are provided above.
Question 2. Can we repeat JEE Advanced?
Answer. Yes, candidates can apply for JEE Advanced exam twice consecutively from the year when they are in 12th standard.
Question 3. Is it mandatory to appear for JEE Main to take JEE Advanced?
Answer. Yes, candidates who wish to appear for the JEE Advanced must be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates in JEE Main examination.
Question 4. What subjects are considered for JEE Advanced Eligibility?
Answer. Candidates who wish to apply for the JEE Advanced must have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination with the subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Question 6. Do 12th marks matter in IIT?
Answer. Actually No. Class 12 marks do not have any weightage for JEE Advanced. It will all depend on their score in the entrance exam.
Question 7. How many marks are required to qualify for JEE Advanced?
Answer: The expected JEE Main cutoff of the year for general categories was around 70-75 marks. Students are required to score the mentioned marks to be eligible to get a seat based on JEE Advanced.
