Tamil Nadu Board- History, Functions, Exams, Results, Exam Pattern, and Syllabus

The Tamil Nadu Board of Education is one of the oldest education systems in India. The origin of the education sector was founded in 1826 by Sir Thomas Manro, Governor of Madras State. The main objective of the Council is to achieve the highest levels of literacy in Tamil Nadu and all over India. The first high school opened in 1841, public secondary education was established in 1910, and the first public SSLC examination held in all of Tamil Nadu was held in 1911.

In 2002, the TN Board of Education merged two existing boards (the Secondary School Board and the Higher Secondary School Board) into a new school examination board, Tamil Nadu Secondary School Board. Its name was changed to Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education.
