Tamil Nadu Board Class 10th- Functions, Exams, Syllabus and Results

The Directorate of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu, was formed in 1975. The board was created with the aim of conducting the Board examinations for the students of Class 10 and 12 in Tamil Nadu. In 2011, the Tamil Nadu Government established a new board for conducting school exams under the name of the State Board of School Examinations. The Board of Secondary Education and Board of Higher Secondary Examinations were then merged. 

Around 9 to 10 lakh students appear for TN SSLC board exams every year. The board is responsible for prescribing and developing the syllabus for TN Board Class 10th along with conducting exams. 

Tamil Nadu SSLC (Class 10th) Exams

The DGE, TN conducts SSLC Public Examination three times each academic year.

  1. Annual Exams- conducted in March/April. 
  2. Instant Special Supplementary Exams- conducted in June/July.
  3. Supplementary Examinations- conducted in September/October.

Tamil Nadu SSLC (Class 10th) Syllabus

The TN board is responsible for developing the syllabus for Class 10th. The syllabus is released online each year at the official website. The released detailed syllabus gives students an idea of the important topics or chapters along with the marking scheme. 

Tamil Nadu SSLC (Class 10th) Results

Tamil Nadu Board conducts the SSLC board exams for Class 10 thrice a year. For the annual exams conducted in March/April, the result is released on the official website. For the current academic year, the TN Class 10 results 2023 are expected to be released in June 2023. Students will be able to check their results on the official website- http://tnresults.nic.in/.
