The Maharashtra SSC Board syllabus for the first language English in classes 9 and 10 has been prepared considering the National Curriculum Framework (CBSE and ISCE), the State Curriculum Framework of different State Boards and the existing curriculum framework.
The general objective of the subject is to help students develop their language skills to a fair degree of proficiency and cultivate an interest in and appreciation of Literature. It will also help students improve their listening, reading, speaking and writing skills.

The Maharashtra SSC Board Mathematics Syllabus includes the study of the Number system, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Statistics, Graphs and Coordinate geometry. The objective of learning Mathematics as a subject is to develop the students’ analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Since the themes in Physics, Chemistry and Biology are interlinked to each other, the entire syllabus has been integrated into one paper. The Science and Technology syllabus has been designed in such a way to expose students to numerous topics in Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
The objective of this syllabus is to correlate scientific principles to the student's experience and involve them in exploring topics through various discussions and activities. Some of the topics students will study in this Science and Technology syllabus are Acids and Bases, The World of the Living, Classification of Elements, Electric Circuits and Magnets.
The syllabus for Social Science is divided into two parts. Part 1 is History and Political Science, while part 2 is Geography and Economics. Class 10 History begins with Revolutions. Next, the student studies the two world wars and the scientific and technological eras.
Under Political Science, the topics covered are Democracy, Political Parties and types, Social Diversity and Democracy and Challenges to Democracy.
In Part 2, some of the topics discussed in Geography are the Physical Divisions of India, the Peninsular Plateau Region, the Western Ghats and the Eastern Ghats.
In Economics, the syllabus covers Introduction of an Economy and Public distribution system and Consumer protection.
