NEET UG is moving to Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from 2027. That means your preparation now needs one more element: getting comfortable with taking a full-length exam on a computer.

You may be used to solving questions in books, filling OMR sheets and taking mock tests on paper. That practice still matters. But when the actual NEET exam appears on a screen, the format should not feel unfamiliar.

This is where a NEET test series with CBT practice can make a difference.

Why Practise NEET in CBT Mode?

Knowing the concepts is one part of exam preparation. Knowing how to use those concepts when the clock is running is another.

A computer-based test changes how you read questions, move between them, review answers and manage your time. Regular CBT practice helps you get used to these small details before they become important on exam day.

NTA itself provides mock-test facilities to familiarise students with the processes involved in a computer-based examination. Its National Test Abhyas platform also provides exam-level mock tests and tools focused on improving speed, accuracy and time management.

What Should a Good NEET CBT Test Series Offer?

A useful test series should give you more than a collection of questions. It should help you build the habits needed for a real exam.

    Look for:

    Full-length CBT practice

Take complete tests on a computer, with a fixed time limit. This helps you practise maintaining concentration while working through the entire paper.

    Questions aligned with NEET

Your mock tests should follow the latest available NEET pattern and cover the syllabus systematically. This makes your practice more relevant to the exam you are preparing for.

    Regular testing

Taking one mock test occasionally is very different from following a structured test schedule. Regular tests help you track whether your speed, accuracy and understanding are improving.

    Detailed performance analysis

Your score tells you what happened. Analysis helps you understand why.

After each test, check the questions you got wrong, the ones you guessed, the topics where you spent too much time and the questions you could have solved more efficiently.

Experience the NEET Exam Before the Actual Exam

Our current NEET-UG 2027 AIATS programmes include online CBT options designed to simulate the exam environment. Depending on the programme, students can access AIATS, unit tests, part tests, cumulative tests, full-syllabus tests and All India rankings.

For students looking for a combination of test formats, AIATS Pro also includes CBT-at-centre tests alongside offline and online tests. The current programme provides 11 CBT tests at centres, along with other scheduled tests and a larger practice question bank.

This kind of mix can be useful while preparing for NEET 2027. You can continue with traditional paper-based practice while gradually becoming more comfortable with the computer-based format.

How to Use a NEET CBT Test Series Properly

Simply taking more tests will not automatically improve your preparation. What you do after each test matters just as much.

Start with chapter and unit tests

If you have recently completed a topic, test it while the concepts are still fresh. This helps you identify gaps before moving on.

    Move towards full-length tests

As more of the syllabus gets completed, introduce longer tests. Try to replicate the actual exam environment as closely as possible.

    Follow the time limit

Do not pause a mock test whenever you get stuck. Give yourself the same time pressure you would have in an actual exam.

    Analyse every test

Separate your mistakes into categories such as:

    • Conceptual errors
    • Calculation mistakes
    • Misreading the question
    • Guessing
    • Time-management issues
    • Careless errors

    Then revise accordingly.

    Practise on screen regularly

Do not wait until the final months to start CBT practice. Even shorter tests taken on a computer can help you become more comfortable with screen-based reading and navigation.

CBT Practice Does Not Replace Your Regular Preparation

Moving to CBT does not mean that you should stop studying from textbooks or solving questions by hand.

You will still need strong concepts, thorough revision and plenty of question practice. Physics calculations may still require rough work, and Biology still requires detailed revision.

The computer is simply becoming the medium through which you will take the examination.

So, build both kinds of practice into your routine. Study thoroughly, solve questions on paper, and regularly test yourself in CBT mode.

Prepare for the New NEET Experience

The first time you sit for a computer-based NEET should not be the day of the actual exam.

Start early. Take timed CBT tests, analyse your performance and gradually make the format feel routine. With regular practice, navigating questions on a screen can become just another part of your test-taking process.

For NEET 2027, your preparation should be about more than completing the syllabus. It should also prepare you to perform comfortably and accurately in the environment in which you will actually take the exam.

    Conclusion

NEET 2027 will bring a new exam experience, so give yourself time to get used to it. Add regular CBT tests to your preparation, analyse your mistakes and work on your speed and accuracy.

When the actual exam arrives, the computer-based format should feel familiar rather than new.

    FAQs

    1. Why should I take the NEET CBT test series?

A CBT test series helps you practise answering questions on a computer while managing the exam clock. It can also help you become comfortable with digital navigation and reviewing questions.

    2. When should I start taking NEET CBT mock tests?

You can start with shorter tests and gradually move to full-length tests as you cover more of the syllabus. Starting early gives you more time to become comfortable with the format.

    3. Can I continue solving NEET mock tests on paper?

Yes. Paper-based practice is still useful for concepts, calculations and revision. Add CBT tests alongside it rather than replacing all your regular practice.

    4. How often should I take a NEET CBT mock test?

There is no fixed number that works for everyone. Follow a regular test schedule based on your preparation and increase full-length tests as you get closer to the exam.

    5. What should I do after taking a NEET mock test?

Analyse your mistakes instead of looking only at your score. Identify weak concepts, careless errors, time-management issues and questions where you could have improved your approach.
