If you are preparing for JEE Main 2027, there is already one important date to mark on your calendar. NTA has announced the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 exam dates, while several other details are still awaited.
Here is everything you need to know so far, including the exam dates, registration, eligibility, syllabus and what to expect next.
JEE Main 2027 Exam Date
NTA has announced that JEE Main 2027 Session 1 will be conducted on:
- January 22, 2027
- January 23, 2027
- January 24, 2027
- January 28, 2027
- January 29, 2027
- January 30, 2027
January 31, 2027 has been kept as a buffer date. NTA has also clarified that the dates in its examination calendar are tentative and may be changed if required.
The exact date, shift and exam centre allotted to each candidate will be known through the examination-specific schedule and admit card.
The JEE Main 2027 Session 2 exam is expected to be scheduled for April 2027, but the exact dates have not been announced yet. We will update this page as soon as NTA releases them.
JEE Main 2027 Registration
The JEE Main 2027 registration process has not started yet.
NTA is expected to open the Session 1 application process in October 2026, but the exact registration opening date, last date, application fee and other instructions are yet to be announced.
Once registration begins, candidates will be able to submit the application form online through the official JEE Main portal.
Do not wait until the last day to apply. Before filling the form, keep your required details and documents ready and carefully check the information entered in the application.
We will update the registration dates and application details as soon as NTA releases the official notification.
JEE Main 2027 Eligibility Criteria
The detailed JEE Main 2027 eligibility criteria have not been released yet.
NTA will provide the final eligibility rules in the JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin. These rules are important because they can cover requirements related to the qualifying examination, year of passing, subjects studied and other conditions for appearing in JEE Main and admission.
So, avoid relying on eligibility details from an older JEE Main cycle as the final rule for 2027.
Once NTA releases the Information Bulletin, we will update this section with the confirmed eligibility criteria.
JEE Main 2027 Syllabus
The JEE Main 2027 syllabus has not been separately notified yet.
For now, you can continue preparing Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics using the latest available JEE Main syllabus and your current study plan. The official JEE Main portal provides a syllabus section for candidates.
Once NTA releases the 2027 syllabus, go through it carefully and compare it with what you have already covered. This will help you identify any topics that need more attention.
JEE Main 2027 Exam Pattern
The detailed JEE Main 2027 exam pattern is also awaited.
JEE Main Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech. was conducted in CBT mode in 2026. The 2026 paper included questions from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, with the examination conducted in multiple shifts.
However, students should not assume that every detail of the 2026 pattern will automatically remain the same in 2027.
The final number of questions, marking scheme, duration and other examination instructions will be confirmed by NTA in the 2027 Information Bulletin.
JEE Main 2027: Two Sessions
JEE Main is conducted in two sessions, giving candidates an opportunity to appear in both sessions and use their performance as per the rules announced for that year.
For 2027, Session 1 is scheduled for January, while Session 2 is scheduled for April. The exact Session 2 dates and detailed application schedule are still awaited.
If you plan to appear in both sessions, keep your preparation consistent rather than treating the April session as something to worry about later.
What Should You Do While Waiting for the 2027 Notification?
You do not need to put your preparation on hold while waiting for the remaining details.
Start with the syllabus you are studying now. Strengthen your concepts, solve JEE-level questions and take regular mock tests. You can also revise topics that you have already completed instead of waiting for the application form to open.
At the same time, keep an eye on NTA updates. The JEE Main 2027 exam date for Session 1 is already out, but details such as registration, eligibility, the final syllabus and the complete examination schedule are still to come.
We will update this page as soon as NTA announces each of these details.
