The CBSE board separated the academic periods for Class 10 and 12 into two terms and stated that examinations would be held after each term. Due to the countrywide lockdown intended to stop the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, the board announced the results in 2020 using different assessment standards.

This year, CBSE will acquire a two-term assessment with the following descriptions:

    Year-end Exam/Term II Exam

    • At the end of the second term, the board would hold Term II or Year-End Examinations based only on the rationalized Term 2 syllabus (i.e. half of the comprehensive curriculum).
    • This examination will take place in March-April 2022 at The Board established centres.
    • The paper will be 2 hours long and will include case-based/situation-based, open-ended questions (short answer/long answer style).
    • If the scenario does not allow for a typical comprehensive examination, a 90-minute MCQ-based assessment will suffice.
    • The overall total score will be influenced by the results of the Term II Examination too.

On April 25, the CBSE board will offer a webinar on the procedures for conducting CBSE term 2 examinations 2022 to discuss the modalities for conduct during the CBSE Term 2 Exams 2022, which will start on April 26, 2022. The board has agreed to do a live webcast to discuss test preparations and officials’ roles and obligations. According to the official notification published by the Central Board of Secondary Education, the live webinar will be available on the CBSE YouTube account. CBSE has instructed all schools to broadcast the live webcast to students and instructors. This would also remove any further issues, and the board will be able to administer tests with the cooperation of schools and students effectively.

Attendance at this CBSE webinar is required for all schools. The board will take non-compliance with the guidelines for watching this CBSE webcast very severely.

At 11 a.m., the Central Board of Secondary Examination will begin the live broadcast. The live stream will last around an hour. Dr Vineet Joshi, Chairman of CBSE, will begin the live stream with a keynote presentation. CBSE will discuss the CBSE Term 2 Tests 2022 and the measures taken for the exams in this webcast.

Furthermore, given the increase in Covid-19 instances around the country, many students have continued to demand that board exams be cancelled.

Nonetheless, preparation for your exam is necessary; therefore, here are some pointers to assist you during your exam:

    • Make the most of your opportunities

The last few minutes before you turn out the light are ideal for memorizing. Learning before night helps memory retention, so while you’re in bed, go over the most important information, equations, or terminology. Then turn off the light.

    • Make use of effective study methods

With techniques such as active recall and repetition, you actively practice retrieving knowledge from your memory. The goal is to put oneself to the test in some shape or form. This increases your brainpower in retrieving information from memory during exams.

    • Prioritize the most vital task

Rather than procrastinate and cram your preparation into a single day or two, spread it out throughout the remaining time before the examinations and go over the most vital topics first.

    • Know when to stop

Before leaving for the exam, go through your most important facts. Too much preparation at the last minute might drive you into a panic. So turn off your thought process when you enter the exam room. Recognize what you’ve done so far, know it is sufficient, and have faith in yourself.

    • Do what you think is best for you

Lastly, each individual is unique. Some people prefer to be alone before tests, while others listen to encouraging music through their headphones. . You’ll be prepared mentally to ace the exam if you do whatever puts you in the optimal mode of thinking and makes you calm.

    • Don’t put your health at risk

Exams are often linked with all-nighters and last-minute studying but don’t put your health at risk. Neglecting your health and putting other things on the back burner will not assist you with your academics; on the contrary, it will cause many more difficulties that will impede your progress.

    • Use stress-relieving strategies

Take your mind off your studies and let go of any needless tension to become more effective and productive. Do something that will help you relax and feel better. Being in a peaceful frame of mind can assist you in better processing information and making you more efficient.

Before the exam, habits help you become more efficient and effective. Here’re a few that will help you achieve that:

    • Prepare yourself with a well-organized study area

A well-organized study room is always beneficial to your focus. Your study room provides you with additional energy and stamina, allowing you to prepare effectively. Check if the study area has adequate room for a notepad, study books, and other items. Check to see if your study area has a good supply of light. Ensure your sitting chair is comfortable for lengthy periods. Make sure you’re at ease in your study area.

    • Make an orderly study timetable

Prepare an orderly study programme based on your subject’s schedule to accomplish all components within the time restriction. Also, never put something off until the last minute. This will assist you in improving and organising your study habits and saving time. Note down all of your Task list items, such as how many pages you still need to learn, how many exams you still have, how much of the material you still need to learn, etc.

Take it one step at a time and complete them. This can even make you feel delighted.

    • Make a habit of waking up and going to bed early

Your wake-up time sets the tone for your attentiveness throughout the day. In this manner, strive to get up early in the morning and devote your full attention to your studies. This is a point that you should never avoid within your exam timetable. Similarly, try to get to bed early. To be more efficient, your body and mind require adequate rest for the examination.

    • Fill your mind with good thoughts

Be confident and give yourself a positive push. Positive ideas will bring your ineptitude and perplexity to a halt. It would help if you fed your head with good thoughts. Fill your head with affirmations like “I can do it,” “I will do it,” and “It is possible,” and feel secure in yourself.

The last few seconds are full of uncertainty and hurriedness. It’s easy to forget key details like what to bring and what not to bring to your exam centres.

List of things to bring and not to bring during examinations:

    Things to bring:-

    • Admit Card or Hall Ticket
    • Aadhar Card (or any ID proof)
    • Basic Stationery (like pens, pencils, ruler, geometry box etc.)

    Things to avoid bringing:-

    • Any unneeded document
    • Calculator (unless allowed)
    • Any electronic device, especially a smartphone

Here are some pointers on how to write well in your CBSE Class 12 Board exams:

    • Prioritise your answers

To begin, make a list of the questions you are confident are correct. This will help you gain confidence and allow you enough time to think about other problems that are still a bit unclear in your mind. The answers do not have to be written in the same sequence as they appear on the question paper. Although it is encouraged that you answer in sequence, you are free to begin in any most convenient order.

    • Choose your questions carefully

Internal alternatives are usually offered for several questions in the paper. Any of the options must be chosen by the student. However, the tough part about these decisions is that students frequently choose which question to tackle based on gut, only to regret not picking the other question, which they know better. This occurs as a result of carelessness. When choosing which questions to tackle, read each question carefully at least twice and then make a specific image of what you need to write in each scenario. In this manner, you’ll be able to assess your understanding of the topic and eliminate any uncertainties you might have.

    • Make good use of the reading time

CBSE gives its students 15 minutes before their board exams by handing the question papers out. This allows students to study the questions before beginning to write thoroughly. You can make a mental strategy on how to solve the paper correctly without becoming stressed. Using these 15 minutes wisely to devise a plan can help you write your test conveniently and help you not stress out.

    • Answer all of the questions

Don’t be scared to answer the questions you’re unsure about since you have nothing to lose. In the board exams, there is no negative marking for incorrect responses. Read the questions carefully and attempt to figure out what each one requires. If you’re unsure, use your judgement and make an educated guess.

    • Write concise answers

Answer a question attentively and make sure you understand what it’s asking. Try to keep your response to the question’s requirements and avoid writing long paragraphs that provide unnecessary details.

    • Be careful about your presentation

Blue and Black pens are enough to use in your answer sheet. Use a pencil to draw your graphs and diagrams. Many people feel that answering questions creatively using different coloured pens or markers assists them. However, this will not get you any extra points. Instead, it will take away the valuable time you could have spent thinking about and writing answers to questions you put off until the end. Your goal should be to make your answer sheet look nice and tidy. Attempt to write your answers in point form. It’s ideal if you don’t group all of your sentences. Leave a line before and after each question to ensure that your words are properly spaced. Don’t try to squeeze too many words into one sentence. This makes your answer sheet look more presentable and easier to read to the examiner.

    • Examine your answer sheet

Don’t forget to review your answer sheet when you’ve finished the paper. Before handing over the page to the examiner, double-check that you have written your roll number neatly and correctly. Make sure you double-check your answers. Check to see if you’ve missed any questions. While tallying the replies, we even run across trivial errors that can be corrected.

Finally, and most importantly, remember to be wary of Covid-19. Wearing a mask and gloves and keeping a safe distance from others are all required measures.

All of your preparation will be in vain if you cannot jot down all of your material in an organized and presentable manner and on time on exam day. It is a well-known fact that students become uneasy and upset in the exam room. Students tend to forget what they learned throughout their exam preparations because the pressure is so high. Remembering a few useful pointers when sitting in the exam room and writing your paper may simplify the situation.

    FaQs

    1. What are the items allowed to carry in the CBSE Class 12 Term 2 exam?

Items such as your pencil box, geometry box, water bottle, and admit card are allowed to be carried in the exam hall. It would help if you did not carry any paper/unfair means to the exam hall as it can lead to severe consequences. You must also remember not to carry the previous year’s or the previous day’s question paper.

    2. How to reach the exam centre in time?

You must start your journey to the exam centre 1-2 hours before reaching the venue in time. You must not leave the house half an hour before the traffic, and other situations can delay your reach. Moreover, there’s a possibility that if you forget something, then you can take them back from your home. However, do a thorough check of the essential items you need to carry to the exam centre to avoid unnecessary confusion.

    3. How to remain calm before the CBSE Class 12 Term 2 exam at the last moment?

To remain calm at the last moment before the exam, you must practise breathing exercises, take deep breaths and try to take a walk. You will feel relaxed and fresh after spending some time in nature. Do not study a new topic or try to learn a new topic in the last few minutes. It will burden your mind and will increase unnecessary stress. So, try to avoid learning new things and focus on revision. The best tip is to stay relaxed and chilled as you have already prepared for your exam.
