All You Need To Know About CBSE Class 12 Term 2 Exams 2022

The CBSE class 12 Term 2 examinations are just around the edge, and the preparation of the students has heated up. CBSE has declared that it will conduct the second term examinations from the 26th of April. Each subject’s examination time slots and dates have been released recently. CBSE has notified all the affiliated schools about the dates and pattern of the examination. 

The term two CBSE examinations are going to be subjective. The students will not have the liberty to check the correct MCQs. This time, short and long answer-type questions will appear for each subject’s examination. But, only the remaining 50 % syllabus will be asked, so the students still have the upper hand in scoring decent marks.

Important Dates

The examinations for all India CBSE class 12 will commence on April 26, 2022. All the subject’s examinations have been scheduled properly to avoid any clashes. Due to the prevailing covid conditions and loss of a lot of academic years, CBSE has released some important guidelines, which are as follows:

• For every stream, the gap between two papers has been kept optimum so that the students get adequate time to prepare for the next examination. That is done to relieve the stress of giving consecutive exams. 
• If the gap between the two exams is shorter, they are scheduled for a later date in the datasheet. The aim behind this is that the students can prepare for these subjects in the longer gaps given for other examinations.

For instance, if the gap between English and Computer Science is two days, the gap between Physics and Chemistry is six days. Then a student can prepare English and Computer Science any day between the six days given for Physics and Chemistry. Also, the English and Computer papers will be scheduled after the Physics and Chemistry papers.

• The JEE Mains 2022, NEET 2022 registration date, and other olympiads have been shifted after the CBSE board examination finishes.
• Not a single student has to worry about giving two consecutive examinations on the same date. The schedule is proposed so that exams for students are not clashing on a single date.
• The examination on duly scheduled dates is to be conducted from 10.30 AM. Although India is going to experience summer from April – to June, the timing is synchronised, keeping 26 other countries in mind where CBSE examinations will be held. Also, the exams will be covered in the morning shift; no evening shift this time for the papers.

The examinations are expected to end on June 15. The CBSE class 12 examinations will be held for almost two months. So the students have ample time to study and revise every subject.

Pattern and Sample Papers

As mentioned above, the CBSE class 12 papers will be subjective. You have to write short answers or long answers according to the marks against the question. The term 2 question paper is 50 marks. The question paper is divided into three sections: Section A, Section B, and Section C. 

• Section A contains six questions carrying two marks each. 
• Section B will again consist of 6 questions but three marks each. 
• Finally, section C will have 1 question, five marks. 

So the total question paper will be of Section A (6 x 2 = 12) + Section B (6 x 3 = 18) + Section C (1 x 5 = 5). That amounts to a total of 13 questions with 35 marks. The remaining 15 marks will be allotted through practical examinations at respective schools. That was the case for subjects having practical and theory parts. 

Subjects with only theory, like the optional and elective courses, will have 40 marks on paper and ten marks on internal assessments. CBSE has released the sample paper of each subject for term two on their official website. You can subject-wise check them out. 

The students can expect questions based on different cases and situations. The total duration of the examination will be 2 hours, and no one shall be allowed to leave before the examination hours. You will be allotted extra 15 minutes to read the question paper. No added time will be provided after 2 hours of examination have finished. Make sure to mark your presence at the examination centre 15 – 30 minutes before the paper starts. 

Marking Scheme

The standard set by CBSE to pass any subject in the board test is that the students must get a score of at least 33%. In addition, to pass the board exam, candidates must obtain at least a 33 percent aggregate score. Candidates who received 33 per cent or more in aggregate but less than 33 in any subject will be asked to take the supplemental exam. That means that suppose a student gets 40 % overall marks but has 31% in chemistry. Overall he passed the CBSE class 12 but failed in chemistry. Thus, they will have to reappear for the Chemistry supplement examination. 

• The marks earned in the practical and internal assessments will be combined to calculate overall scores.
• To pass a subject, the marks obtained in theory, practical, and internal assessment must sum up to 33 per cent.
• Grace marks will be assigned to each subject on a scale of two to five.

How To Prepare For CBSE Class 12 Term 2 Board Exams?

Now that the exam is only a month away, the students must prepare nothing besides the curriculum. Keep a copy of your syllabus with you at all times.
2. Do Not Panic: The students are moving from MCQs mode of examination to subjective type for class 12 term 2 Boards examination. Thus, try not to panic beforehand. It will adversely affect your brain. 
3. Stop Repetitive Reading: Teachers and advisers encourage students to avoid reading new chapters or chapters again now that the exams are only a month away. Students ought to study from their prepared notes rather than read entire chapters.
