NEET coaching and its importance is really critical for admission in MBBS, BDS, Ayush Courses, B.Vsc& AH courses and other undergraduate medical colleges throughout India. The only undergraduate medical colleges that are out of the ambit of NEET is JIPMER and AIIMS as these institutes were established through an act of Parliament.

In India, the number of seats in these medical colleges is far less than the number of students who are opting for it. This article will throw light on the importance of medical coaching and how to choose the right coaching institute. As there is a fierce competition in securing a seat in the medical colleges in India.

The three important factors to decide while deciding upon the NEET coaching are:

    1. Duration of Coaching
    2. Selection of the Right Coaching Institute
    3. Scholarships available for coaching

    NEET Answer Solution

    Medical Coaching

The students have first to decide whether they would be opting for 4 years, 3 years, 2 years or 1 year coaching for NEET.

    Course Name Eligibility
4 Yr. Course for NEET/AIIMS Class VIII moving to Class IX
3 Yr. Course for NEET/AIIMS Class IX moving to Class X
    2 Yr. Course for NEET/AIIMS Class X Appearing/Appeared Students
1 Yr. Course for NEET/AIIMS Class XI Appearing/ Appeared Students

NEET coaching classes before completing class 10

Medical Coaching is not only about making you understand about various subjects but also about training your mind in achieving the goal. The sooner it starts the better.

“It is all to do with the training: You can do a lot if you are properly trained.”

If you have made up your mind to study in a medical school at a very early stage, then you can opt for a 4 Years course which begins after you complete class 8.  If you take up the 4 or 3 years course, you will get ample time to prepare for NEET. You will be in no hurry to learn everything at a fast pace, but instead, you will get enough time to lay a strong foundation from the very beginning. You can be very clear about various concepts and its application, and you may get a boost in keeping you ahead of the competition.

The good thing about these classroom coaching is that they will also help you in scoring good marks in school exams besides coaching your mind for the NEET.

    • 4 Years NEET Coaching: This starts after you complete class 8
    • 3 years NEET Coaching: This begins after you finish your class 9

Case Study: A bright student scared of Physics

Meera was a bright student and wanted to take the medical stream in class 11. She dreamt of becoming a doctor and serving the community. Meera did not have a good Physics teacher in school and always struggled with the SI Unit and CGS unit. She always dreaded the Physics questions and would spend more time studying it and end up scoring lower marks as Physics is not about mugging up but understanding the basic concepts. She did not take any coaching at that time as she had a notion in her mind that NEET Coaching should only be taken after Class 10. The result was that she was so scared of Physics that she ended up taking commerce in Class 11.

Discussion: If Meera had taken the coaching for Physics in Class 9 itself then she would have quickly cleared her concepts about the subject and would have had a better concept by the time she would have reached class 11.

NEET coaching Classes after completing class 10

This is the time when the maximum students opt for coaching as they have already enrolled for a medical stream in Class 11 in their respective schools. At this point, the students choose for either 2 years or 1-year course.

    • 2 years NEET Coaching: This starts after the students complete class 10
    • 1 year NEET Coaching: This begins after the students complete class 11

     NEET Crash Course Coaching

Some students also opt for the NEET Crash Course, and this is generally for 2-3 months. This is suited for the students who want last minute revision of the concepts and wants to measure their performance right before the NEET Exam.

Aakash offers NEET Online crash course which comprises Weekly Tests, Mock Tests, Practice Tests, Test & Discussion. For NEET 2019 the crash course there are 2 batches, and it starts on 22 February and 19 March respectively, and it will go on until the last week of NEET Exam. The crash course is suitable for last minute revision.

Which Institute to Opt for NEET Coaching

This is quite a tough question, which needs a considerable thought, as the institute would be the building block in the NEET preparation. Factors to be considered while choosing the NEET coaching institute.

    • Ask for a Demo Class: The students should attend the demo class before finalising the coaching centre. They can meet the faculty if possible before enrolling in as it builds confidence.
    • Small or Big Coaching Institute: You can also inquire about the number of students in each class and meet the faculty and check their experience. In small institutes or coaching institutes run by 2-3 teachers, there is a problem for students if any of the teachers is not available then they miss out on the course. The bigger coaching institutes will never face such problems. As most of the exams are now being conducted online, the smaller institutes are not able to provide infrastructure to practice for the online tests.
    • Distance from your residence: The distance from your residence matters because if the institute is too far then a lot of time would be wasted and you might get tired as well handling school and coaching institute at the same time.
    • Flexibility: The coaching institutes facility in case you miss any class due to any reason. As that is important because you should not miss on anything.
    • Feedback from seniors or old students: You can also talk to your seniors or speak to students who are already studying as it may help in understanding the good and bad points about the institute.

    Scholarships for NEET coaching

There are many scholarships available for bright students to fund their NEET Coaching. Aakash Institute itself offers ANTHE scholarship which is for class 8-10 students. To avail the scholarship, the student has to appear in a written exam, and they get the scholarship in proportion to the marks secured by them in ANTHE. This is a national level exam which is held on a single date all across India.

Apart from ANTHE, students can also appear in ACST which take place from January to June on different dates. The students can appear in ACST only two times in a year. The best of the scores will be taken into consideration for deciding on the scholarship amount.

Coaching for Students of Small Towns

Problems faced by students who are residing in smaller towns is immense. They have to travel long distances just to take coaching. Sometimes the students also have to shift to larger cities for the sake of coaching, it not only adds to the cost but sometimes adjusting to new cities wastes a lot of precious time that could be used for studying. Staying in hostels, PG etc. also takes away the nutritious food that they were getting at the home.  Therefore, these students can easily opt for the AESL digital learning program.  Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL) has started with Aakash Digital through which the students can access Aakash study material through Aakash iTutor or get access to live interactive classes online by top Aakash faculty via Aakash Live

These two products can be of help to students of not only smaller towns but to all the students who are preparing for the medical entrance exams.

    NEET Coaching through Aakash iTutor

A series of video lectures that are pre-recorded and given to students in the form of the USB drive or SD card.  The students do not require a dedicated internet connection to access these lectures. Just plug-in the USB drive in the device of your choice and play, replay, pause or resume lecture as per your convenience and time. You can watch recorded videos repeatedly and clear concepts easily.

How to clear doubts with Aakash iTutor: You can ask your doubts by sending an email, and subject experts will reply with solutions.

    NEET Coaching through Aakash Live
Aakash Live is an optimal e-learning solution which also works on internet speed as low as 100 kbps. Live classes are delivered by some of the best faculty of the institute in a virtual classroom. Recordings of the lectures are provided to students after the session is over.

How to clear doubts with Aakash Live:  The students can have live interaction with the faculty to resolve doubts.
