NEET remains as one of the most competitive exams in the Indian education system and is a getaway to medical colleges around the country. All medical aspirants must clear it with a good rank to secure a seat in the top medical colleges in India. Every year millions of students apply for this exam, giving cut-throat competition to each other. The syllabus is vast with more than 13,000 concepts to cover, and the time is incredibly short.

If you are targeting NEET 2019, you should know certain things about the exam and how to go about with your preparation. When it comes to competitive exams, 12 months fly by like 12 days, provided a student is impeccably focused. Starting with preparation as soon as possible is the way to go, and any delays will only cut your chances. Let’s look at how your 12 months study guide should look like, what it should include and what you should clearly steer away from!

    An Overview of NEET 2019

    Maximum Marks 720

What You Should Do in The Coming 12 Months

    1. Create a Realistic Timetable

Following a timetable is essential when preparing for NEET 2019; however, the more important thing is to create a realistic schedule that you can actually follow. It is true that pushing yourself is necessary but setting unrealistic expectations can adversely affect the preparation. Here are things to do when creating a timetable:

    • Gauge your strengths and weaknesses
    • Allocate timebased on your strong and weak areas
    • Take short breaks in between and do not study for more than 3 hours at a stretch without a break
    • Include recreational activities in your daily routine
    • Follow a structured timetable, but improvise as and when needed
    • Dedicate time towards revision, mock tests and exam series

    2. Practice & Revise Regularly

Regular practice and revision will surely make a difference between a good and an average rank. With practice, you will know how much you have learned over time. It is a brilliant way to gauge your preparation and work on areas that you are not confident about. Here are some tips you should inculcate when practicing:

    • Highlight tough questions and weak areas
    • Solve sample papers actively as you would during the actual exam
    • Dedicate more time towards improving your weaker areas

    3. Start from Basics

Yes, it is only a year left for NEET 2019, but starting from scratch will strengthen your fundamentals. With a strong understanding of concepts, it will be easier to solve difficult questions. Our tip is to:

    • Learn all formulas and theorems
    • Start off with NCERT and be consistent with fundamentals
    • Assess your weak areas and work on them

    4. Learn from Video Lectures

Video lectures offer a brilliant way to prepare for the NEET exam. Not only are video lectures repeatedly playable, but they also are a much interactive way to study. NEET online coaching can help you in understanding the concepts better which will lead to a better performance.

    5. Choose your own Mode of Study

Every student has a unique way of preparing for the NEET entrance exam. However, coaching is shared among all students. Since there many different modes of coaching available, you should choose the one that suits your personality. If you are an online person, live online learning or studying from recorded video lectures will do the trick. However, if you are conventional, going for classroom learning is highly recommended. We at Aakash Institute are offering exclusive discounts including an upto 40% off if you pay 499 rupees!

    6. Value Consistency

Hard work should be your second nature, and you must never steer away from it during this one year. If your basic concepts of class 11th are clear, you already have an advantage. However, if there are some concepts that are yet to be perfected, make sure you have a dedicated time slot for covering that syllabus. Being consistent with your study routine is highly critical for best results.

    7. Manage Time During Mock Tests

Before you write the NEET 2019 exam, you must appear for a lot of mock tests to acquaint yourself with the exam. Typically, most students will divide the time limit and dedicate it equally to all subjects. It is advisable to complete your strongest section first before moving on to next one. Do not waste time on questions you are not confident about, instead move on to next section.

    8. Take Your Doubts Seriously

During your course of preparation, you will come across various problems including doubts. It is important to resolve your doubts immediately and not keep them for long. At Aakash Institute we hold regular doubt resolution classes in both our offline and online formats of learning. We also have a provision of live doubt clarification where you can ask questions during liveclass and get the answers immediately.

Students must follow the points mentioned in this guide during the coming 12 months before the NEET 2019 exam. Remember, it is possible to prepare for NEET in 12 months, provided you are consistent and dedicated towards your course of study. We at Aakash Institute are highly dedicated in providing the best coaching to our students for competitive exams like NEET.
