Each year, numerous candidates clearing 12 board exams apply for the medical entrance exam in the country. However, only a small amount of students are actually able to realize their dreams of emerging into a successful medical entrance examinee.

Top Medical Entrance Exams in India

Some of the top medical entrance exams in India include:

AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Exam)

AIIMS MBBS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences)

JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research)

How to prepare for Medical Entrance Exam?

Read on to learn about some of the best study tips for cracking the medical entrance exams:

    1. Know the syllabus thoroughly

The most important thing is to be familiar with the official syllabus of medical entrance exams. Being familiar with the exam syllabus and concepts would boost your confidence level. On the whole, the Indian medical entrance exams strictly adhere to the syllabus followed in class 12 CBSE board exams. The topics would belong to science subjects namely Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The questions are usually objective types. The total number of questions in the paper is about 200 and the maximum duration of the exam is about three hours. In addition, there is also negative marking in most of the medical entrance exams.

    2. Perfectly manage your time

Time is a valuable commodity. Time management is the key to achieving brilliant grades in every exam, particularly the medical entrance exam. Therefore, pay attention to your priorities and notice your exam related stress that melts away gradually, leaving you confident and relaxed. Invest your time and resources in a diligent planning process. You can maintain a personal journal and note down your study schedule in it. You might also use flashcards mentioning the details of particular formulae or other important definitions you aim to memorize for your exams.

    3. Solve previous year Sample Papers

The pattern of the question paper hardly changes every year. Be determined to collect the question papers of previous years to get an inkling of the exam paper and style. You can look for these papers in your nearest book shop and even search for it in the local library. And, you can also look for the last year questions papers on different websites online. Once you have received the papers, make sure to solve them. Imagine yourself to be seating in an examination center on the final exam day. Give out your best shot and try to finish the paper in the scheduled time. Solving a huge number of sample papers would help you gear up for your final exams to a great extent.

    4. Eliminate Stress

Bid farewell to the strange feelings that you are experience while revising your notes. Sweaty palms are very common in students who have been preparing for the medical entrance exams. Any kind of stress will certainly hinder your learning process. It is seen that stress often deactivates the thinking cells of your brain thereby lulling them off to sleep.

    5. Confront your fears

Another great way to do well in exams is to identify your strengths and weaknesses. As soon as you have gone about it, you can start working on your problem areas. For instance, if you find it tough to balance the chemical equations, then it is must to practice. Avoiding them altogether would definitely jeopardize your objectives of scoring brilliant marks. Another great idea that can help you de-stress yourself is by taking deep breaths and go for a brisk walk after a study session.

    6. Stop being Anxious

Anxiety attacks are very common before exams. It adversely affects your confidence level giving you sleepless nights. Organizing things beforehand and revising lesions the night before the exam definitely enables to rejuvenate the tensed muscles, reducing the level of stress. Therefore, stop being anxious and start believing in your abilities.

Such good blog!! The market is full of medical books from different publication houses, but you should focus only on authentic study material, like the NCERT books. Before exam If you keep studying on and on then, you want any time for revisions, and revision is an essential part of the study.
