Students, who are nervous and stressed out, often forget what they have studied, especially in the exam hall during the final time. Students fail to remember what they have studied because of the stress. So, the important question that needs to be solved is how can students avoid the nervous breakdown during exams when there is a great pressure on students.

So, here are 10 tips on how to avoid a nervous breakdown during exams:

    1. Attend classes regularly

If you really wish to avoid stress during exams, then make sure to attend your classes regularly and with full dedication and sincerity. Attending lectures with dedication and seriousness will help you alleviate stress level during exams and understand the subject better. This will make your studies enjoyable rather than a burden.

    2. Note the Lectures

Attending lectures regularly is not enough instead you also need to note down the important things that are taught during the class. Note down every incident that your instructor tells you, make diagrams carefully so that when you forget anything you can open your notes and memorize everything easily.

    3. Make a Plan

Planning how much time is required for revision and how you can utilize it in the best possible way by making a proper timetable can greatly reduce the stress level during exams and help you avoid a nervous breakdown. The best trick is to take the overwhelming task as a challenge and simply break it into handy chunks for easy management. Usually, you need to spend more time on certain subjects than others. So you are suggested to vary your timetable and routine so that you don’t get bored reading the particular subject. You can update the plan regularly or whenever necessary.

    4. Know when and where you learn best

It is best said that one must only work when they are highly alert. Different students have different cycles. There are some students who prefer to study at night, while some prefer studying during the day. Some students also prefer to study in a tidy room, while some prefer to read under the duver using their tools. So, wherever students feel calm, relaxed and in control, it is the best place to deal with the exam stress.

    5. Take Regular Breaks

As per reports, a person can only concentrate on a particular thing for 45 minutes at a stretch. It has also been revealed that the longer a person tries to focus on things, the less their brains are able to deal with the things effectively. So, it is important to stay refreshed by taking breaks in between of your studies. It is suggested to take breaks and involve yourself in some activities of your interest which will make you feel refreshed and calm.

    6. Eat Healthy

Eating healthy is very important and by keeping the blood sugar level stable students can avoid loss of energy during daytime and can enjoy a sound sleep during the night, which is really essential to deal with exam stress. Also, make sure to drink lots of water during your exams.

    7. Exercise

This is the best technique to deal with exam stress. Bike riding, swimming, walk or any other physical activity that you enjoy significantly reduces physical tension, resulting in body aches and pain.

    8. Sleep Well

In most cases, students study for the entire night before their exams and as a result, their body copes with lack of sleep and they find it difficult writing their exam papers the next day. If you find it difficult to sleep at night before your exams due to stress, then try to do something repetitive. Proper sleep is quite necessary before exams as it helps you to remain awake with a refreshing mind next day so that you can prepare yourself for the exam.

    9. Relaxation is Necessary

Students who are worried about their exams should always try to keep themselves relax and find out a quiet and calm place where they can breathe deeply in and out, focusing their mind on some pleasant things. They may try to do something that helps them to chill out.

    10. Revise

It is rightly said that practice makes a man perfect. Once you complete your studies, it is time to revise your lessons until you become an expert in it. You may even ask your family and friends to take a test and check your accuracy level.

Therefore, here are the 15 most useful tips to avoid a nervous breakdown during exams. Students who consider studies to be a burden and get stressed out during exams may try out these tips to ease out the stress level and perform well in their exams.
