We are all familiar with the fact that the entire nation is suffering because of the pandemic, be it a child, a student, a teenager or an adult. The government has advised all the people to stay at home, lockdown is seen everywhere that means no school, no exams, no job etc. But instead of focussing on the negative side, it’s a golden opportunity for the students to focus more on their studies. There are plenty of students who get stressed out, nervous when it comes to studying for last-minute tests. But during this lockdown, everything has completely changed.

Students should take it as a blessing as now they have plenty of time and days to prepare for their forthcoming exams. But the question now is how to utilize such a good time in your studies? How does one make a difference?

Well, the difference can start first from parental guidance. Usually, many parents often seem worried about the time by saying they didn’t have time for their kids because of the hustle and bustle of life. However, as described above the situation is changed now. Due to covid-19 all are staying at home which means that it is a good time for parents to spend quality time with their children. In reality, they play a major role in their children’s studies. For example, help them to plan their study schedule, make them relax, teach them about how to keep up with the timeline. Since most of the parents will be staying at home so now, they can easily help their kids in their studies. What else, would you do? It’s a perfect time to reflect on certain issues and chapters that you’re sure about.

Here are some steps that you need to follow during this time:

  1. Try to do as much questions from those subjects you feel confident about.
  2. Make the motive that no matter what, you don’t have to lose marks from your favorite subjects
  3. Better to revise 11thstandard topics first rather than 12th standard topics; to prepare for the board exams as most of the 12th standard questions have the base of 11th standard questions.

1. Solve Mock Papers

Not only this, because of COVID-19, now as you have plenty of time so try to solve as many mock papers as you can. Make a habit of solving one mock paper every day and it is crucial to analyse the concepts where you went wrong and not make the same mistake over and over again. After you have done that, the next step is to concentrate on JEE previous year question papers. It is important to note that at the time of solving your mock paper , you must keep the time duration in your mind as when you sit down to solve JEE main paper you must complete the paper in the given time as this practice will make you understand the importance of time. Most of the time, heaps of students get failed because they don’t complete their exams on time that’s why it’s important to keep the time in your mind. Also, another crucial thing you need to remember is that when solving mock papers make sure you’re sitting in a very nice, non-disturbed atmosphere because this will minimize your stress level and also improve your concentration level.

2. Balancing the Subject

Another problem faced by most of the students is that which subject should they revise first? Or what are the topics I need to focus more on? Since the test is split evenly into the three subjects and the goal is to score maximum points, it is advisable to focus on your favourite subjects during the test and seek to increase your score. Always remember your main agenda, your main mantra and i.e. to score more.

3. Do not Discuss

This is a blunder mistake that many students do before appearing for the exams. It’s important to realize that every student has a different approach and when you discuss with each other, you eventually start to get scared and then negative thoughts start to run through your mind. So, before you appear for the exams, it’s best not to talk to others, make your own plan and try to stick to it. It doesn’t matter what you score in mock exams, what matters is how high you can rank in the JEE main exam.

4. Have a Proper Sleep

Moreover, it is crucial for every student that always have a proper sleep. There are many students who don’t sleep at night a day before the exam and as a result; the next day, on your exam day you feel nervous, anxious, lethargic and non-energetic. So, what is the point of doing so much study if you feel nervous and exhausted on the day of your final exam? Wanna waste your hard work? Not at all, no students want that, so it’s advised to sleep well and take good food because you don’t want the sickness, right?

5. Take short breaks

Don’t study for long hours at a stretch. Make sure you take small breaks in between to keep yourself energetic and do not get bored studying for continuous long hours. Do not worry about your time table instead it is very important to relax in between and gain back your energy level. This will help you to start up all refreshed increasing your motivation as well as concentration level.
