Mathematics has always been the foundation of many technological and scientific discoveries. However, there are many students who dislike the subject and have a fear for it and are always on the lookout to search some shortcuts. Maths anxiety or rightly said as Maths Phobia has kept many students from studying disciplines where mathematics plays a crucial role.

Mathematics is one of the most important subjects in JEE. One needs to have a vigorous plan for mathematics throughout their IIT JEE Preparation to master all the formulas. If you or your child are among those who are afraid of Math, read below to find out how to cope with math Phobia:

    1. Read the Questions thoroughly

There are many questions in which some extra information is provided. Many students glance quickly and start with the calculations. But this is something completely wrong. Make sure that before going towards the solution of the problem you read and understand it thoroughly. If you find the question to be complicated, read it again and again and try to understand it.

    2. Clarify your Concepts

Pay attention in your math classes and listen to all the lectures carefully. Ask as many questions as you can to clear all your doubts. Asking a lot of questions often helps in making your concepts strong. Also, discuss your problems with friends and try to share in groups as the problems of many others can also be your own problems.

    3. Practice as much as you can

The old proverb is right, “Practice makes a man perfect”. Maths cannot be mastered without practice. You must roll up your sleeves and solve problems given at the end of each chapter. Each section and question have its own characteristics and it is important to practice them as many times as possible.

    4. Work the easiest First

Answer the easier problems first and then work towards the more difficult ones. Take your time and skip over a problem when you get stuck and go back to it once again when everything is done.

    5. Draw Diagrams

Try to make the problems simple by drawing diagrams. This will help you in understanding the question and give you an idea about how to solve it.

    Conclusion

With all these tips combined, you can easily fight your phobia for Mathematics and score excellent results. So, make sure to use these tips in your JEE Preparation and get excellent results.
