CBSE 2023 Physics Experiment To Demonstrate Laws Of Motion

By Team Aakash Byju's | 8th December 2022

Place a coin on your elbow. Bring your hand straight forward in one swift motion and try to catch the coin before it drops.

Experiment to demonstrate Newton’s First Law: Penny on your Elbow

If you're quick enough, you'll catch the coin before gravity can pull it down. This experiment explains that every object will remain at rest unless an external force is applied to change its state.

Make a small ramp out of thin plywood and bricks that is 18 inches high and 24 inches long. At the top of the ramp, place a toy car.  Release it and measure how far it rolls.

Experiment to demonstrate Newton’s Second Law: Hot Wheels Experiment

Tape two metal washers to the car, then remove it from the ramp and measure how far it rolls. Repeat the experiment with five washers taped to the top of the car.

This experiment demonstrates that when mass increases due to gravity's constant acceleration, the force pushing the car down the floor increases, causing heavier cars to travel farther.

Experiment to demonstrate Newton’s Third Law: LEGO Balloon Car

Place a balloon upon a lego car and fill it with air by inserting a straw into the balloon's mouth and blowing through the straw.

When you remove the straw from the balloon, the car moves in the other direction as the air releases from the balloon. This experiment proves that every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
