Physics CBSE 10th: What is light made up of? We have explained here

BY Team Aakash Byju's

Light is made of particles called photons, bundles of the electromagnetic field that carry a specific amount of energy and these photons can possess some of the properties of matter.

White light is a combination of all colours in the colour spectrum.

Combining primary colours of light like red, blue, and green creates secondary colours: yellow, cyan, and etc.

Light is made up of wavelengths of light, and each wavelength is a particular colour.

Light waves move as transverse waves and can move through a vacuum (empty space) at a speed of approximately 186,000 miles per second.

Light has both magnetic and electric fields, and this is called electromagnetic radiation.

It is made up of oscillating electric and magnetic fields, which are perpendicular to each other and are also perpendicular to the direction of propagation of light.

According to the dual nature of light, it can also be interpreted as a stream of particles to explain a certain phenomenon like the photoelectric effect, and these particles are called photons.
