Working hard and studying for several hours a day may be significant for cracking an exam as competitive as NEET/AIIMS to an extent. It is not always about the time that you put in your preparation that matters, but it is the strategy that you adopt which will bring in the desired results. You may be regularly attending the coaching institute to study for the medical entrance exam, but there are other techniques that you need to adopt to enhance your learning. To put it simply, you have to study smart in order to crack the entrance test successfully.

Here are some of the best techniques that you need to follow so that you can continue to prepare well in the right direction:

    Plan your time table

Studying for NEET/AIIMS is a tough job. The syllabus is vast and you may feel lost. However, if you have a proper plan that is realistic, then you need not worry anymore. Remember that NEET Main exam consists of 180 multiple choice questions which the students have to complete in a 3 hour examination. There will be questions from every chapter. However, in the main exams, you are likely to be asked more questions from some important chapters. Therefore, you need to devote more time to these sections. But this does not mean that you leave out the other chapters.

    Doubt Clarification is Mandatory

Choose out one day in a week for doubt clarification. During self-study, you may come across many doubts. Make a note of all your queries separately and on a particular day of the week consult the faculty and clarify all your doubts. This is a time saving and a structured way to resolve all your doubts. It is very important that you sort all your doubts at regular intervals and don’t pile them. Or else it can be a hurdle in your preparation.

    Take Practice Tests Regularly

Take as many practice tests as you want. By appearing for several mock tests, you will get the feel of the real exam. Besides solving questions, through these tests, you learn important skills like time management, how to answer accurately and speed development. Medical entrance coaching institutes such as Aakash offer the opportunity to appear for multiple Mock Tests on a regular basis. The scorecard of these Mock tests defines the learning curve of your performance.

    Study in a Logical Manner

You may have to mug up quite a few formulas in Physics, Chemistry or Biology, but majority of the NEET syllabus requires you to study in a logical manner. The key is to master the basics first and then move on to complicated concepts. Try to establish a connection between different chapters to get a clear understanding. Also use graphs and diagrams for a better understanding. You can also install writing boards in your room where you can draw graphs and practice your problems.

    Stay Happy and Healthy

While preparing to crack the medical exam successfully, you should not neglect your health. Make sure you are following a proper diet and getting enough sleep. Always remain calm and stay confident and positive.

While the pattern of the questions asked by board can change, make sure to attempt a few sample papers of the last few years. While practicing observe the pattern that is followed to get a generic idea of the type of questions to expect. Attempt mock tests provided by the coaching institute on a regular basis. This will help track your scores and see where you stand. Also, exercise daily and consume food that stimulates the mind.
