Engineering is a famous profession in India. Most of the Indian parents want their children to become Engineers. They are well-paid and highly respected in our society. With this popular profession, a lot of myths and rumours come hand-in-hand. Here are a few common things we hear about Engineers and Engineering:<\/p>\n

\u25cf MYTH:<\/b> Engineers love Maths and Science<\/p>\n

\u27a2 FACT:<\/b> Maths and Science are a must for someone who wants to do Engineering but they don\u2019t have to be the favourite subjects of an Engineer! Yes, most of the Engineers have fun while doing the calculations involved in Maths and Physics but that does not mean that an Engineer or aspiring Engineer has to love these subjects!<\/p>\n

\u25cf MYTH:<\/b> Engineers aren\u2019t very creative<\/p>\n

\u27a2 FACT:<\/b> This is simply not true. Most of the artistic people think Engineering is not a creative field, but how is that true? The greatest inventions across the globe are done by Engineers! Yes, they use logic to do things but they definitely think out of the box and about all of the new things that can be done with technology!<\/p>\n

\u25cf MYTH:<\/b> Engineers are introverts<\/p>\n

\u27a2 FACT:<\/b> Yes, they like to be focussed on what they are doing but they do have a lot of fun too! They go out with friends, travel, talk to new people & absorb different cultures! This myth is quite a clich\u00e9.<\/p>\n

\u25cf MYTH:<\/b> Engineering is a male dominated profession<\/p>\n

\u27a2 FACT:<\/b> Maybe, at some point of time it was a male dominated profession. But today, more and more women are joining Engineering colleges and are very successful Engineers working side by side with the male engineers.<\/p>\n

\u25cf MYTH:<\/b> Engineers don\u2019t have fun or diverse interests<\/p>\n

\u27a2 FACT:<\/b> Engineers are passionate about their work and are extremely driven. They have fun while working and they also like to do a lot of other things apart from their job. They have various interests in writing, music & acting and some of the Engineers have also made a career out of their hobbies and interests!<\/p>\n
