The clock is ticking, the hours trickling, the minutes passing, every second is taking you closer to the final hurdle: JEE Advanced 2016. The dreamland lies on the other side of the hurdle, the dream you’ve been chasing for years now, the dream that turned more vivid with every sleepless night you’ve spent: studying in the most prestigious technological institute of the country. As the moment of truth comes closer, here’s a peek into some truths you may discover, should you land in your sought-after college.<\/p>\n

It’s a new home<\/b>
\nWhat may now seem to be a fairyland, isn’t really full of fairies. You are likely to meet a lot of people instead, people who may turn into life-long pals. More so, if you aren’t used to living in a hostel. The initial few weeks could make you homesick, but once you get accustomed to the customs of hostel life, you might as well have the time of your life.<\/p>\n

The dream isn’t over<\/b>
\nHaving landed into your college of choice, you are likely to feel like the king of the world, in fact you may even begin looking down upon others who didn’t make it to that college. It’s indisputably a great achievement, but the truth is that it’s just a step further towards your dream. It’s just a head start on others who may be having the same goal as you: be it getting a hefty package, or developing a humanoid.<\/p>\n

Grades Matter<\/b>
\nThe renowned Indian novel that took the youth by storm a few years ago surely had one truth (among a lot of lies), a five point something is certainly not going to take you a long way down. The bottom line being, be heedful of your grades right from day one. Unless of course, you intend to become an author.<\/p>\n

And the sex rat…<\/b>
\nIt is a definite downside of studying in India’s topmost technological institute, a skewed sex ratio. So bring down the glamorous image of a college campus that Bollywood made you envision. You are likely to be surrounded by a herd of geeks running from library to classes to cafeteria. And for the girls, well, you are likely to find a bunch of admirers there.<\/p>\n

No restriction zone<\/b>
\nAs you enter a relatively unrestricted zone that doesn’t have the ifs and buts imposed by your parents, the degree of freedom you enjoy is going to increase manifold. (You know what it means, right!) Make the most of this freedom, but beware, don’t digress from your primary goals. It’s easy to be misled and misguided; just a word of caution.<\/p>\n

However, the universal truth remains that the tag of studying in India’s most reputed deck of colleges is going to be with you, and benefit you in a lot of ways during your entire career. All the best for JEE Advanced, do well!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
