All About Srinivasa Ramanujan<\/h3>\n

Srinivasa Ramanujan was a child prodigy and an autodidact born on 22nd of December, 1887. His contribution in the field of Mathematics and his ability to quickly solve long mathematical problems are what made him extraordinary. Even though he had no formal education or training in the field of Mathematics, he showed exceptional skill and inspired the world with his act of self-education.<\/p>\n

  1. As a young thirteen year old, Ramanujan could work out Loney’s Trigonometry exercises all by himself. He would work on Advanced Trigonometric problems and would discover complex theorems all on his own. At just the age of thirteen!<\/li>\n
  2. When Ramanujan was in school, he didn’t have any friends as students his age didn’t understand him and were always shocked at his mathematical genius. While other students indulged in sports, it was maths that caught Ramanujan’s attention.<\/li>\n
  3. You might not be able to believe this but Ramanujan failed to get his degree as he didn’t clear his fine arts courses. However, he didn’t let this minor failure define him. He performed exceptionally well in mathematics and now inspires all of us to go after our passions and dreams.<\/li>\n
  4. After Ramanujan died, people close to him discovered something extremely precious, his notebook. Ramanujan would solve problems and derive equations on a slate and would summarize them in a notebook. The formulas written in this notebook inspired many mathematicians and their work.<\/li>\n
  5. He successfully managed to put together 3900 results which consisted of mostly identities and equations before he lost his life. One of his most celebrated findings was the infinite series for pi.<\/li>\n
  6. Ramanujan’s birthday, 22nd December is observed as National Mathematics Day every year.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    He died early at the age of 33 on April, 20th 1920 but even in his short lived life, he became the Mozart of Mathematics! Take inspiration from his act of educating himself & move forward towards the things you are passionate about by believing in yourself.<\/p>\n
