The CBSE Class X Mathematics board exam 2019 is here on March 07, and so are last-minute nerves! Don\u2019t worry though, you\u2019ve been working hard for this moment and the right attitude will help you sail through.<\/p>\n

With just a day to go\/less than 24 hours to go, there is no time for new learnings or extensive revision, instead, you should focus on being in the right frame of mind and rely on the processes you have followed so far to get here.<\/p>\n

BEFORE THE PAPER<\/h3>\n

Stick to your schedule<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve kept fixed hours for revision and study breaks, then stick to them. These are the good study habits you\u2019ve built up and your mind now works best in such scenarios. Don\u2019t try and revise everything in one go and sit long hours as it can cause fatigue and affect your exam performance. Further, if you are not able to understand something from the books, you can watch recorded video lectures<\/strong><\/a> on the same.<\/p>\n

Pack your exam kit in the night<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whether it\u2019s an exam hall card, stationery or notes that you want to revise on the way, be sure to keep it ready for the morning. The last thing you want is to be running around, looking for your favourite pen just hours before the exam. Ensure your uniform for the day is ready as well. Preparing these things will offload at least one worry from your mind.<\/p>\n

Wake up early<\/strong><\/p>\n

You may not be a morning person, but the morning before the exam is a great time to get some revision in. It will get you set and in the zone before the paper, so you can start off strong. Make sure to eat a healthy breakfast as well. Eggs, porridge and other nutritious foods will give you the energy needed to stay focused throughout the exam.<\/p>\n

Look at short notes and formulae<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do a quick run-through of all-important formulae to make sure you are absolutely familiar with them. It will definitely help to practice problems but do a mix of tough and moderate from different topics to get the right balance. The idea is to get the right thinking in place so don\u2019t let any little mistakes affect your confidence. However, you\u2019ll need to be careful in the exam.<\/p>\n

DURING THE PAPER<\/h3>\n

Read and check values carefully<\/strong><\/p>\n

Make sure to know exactly what the question is asking for. Too often students are looking to rush and overlook an aspect of the question, or get confused by the language and miss a simple answer. Avoid this by being clear on the ask. Ensure no silly mistakes with values. In case this is something that happens to you, try writing them down and checking them once before starting your answer.<\/p>\n

Be neat and clean<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the rush to finish on time, you may end up scribbling and scratching your answers way too much. Avoid this by clearly demarcating the area for rough work, and cancel it out to ensure your actual answer stands out. Examiners also have lots of papers to check, and this will help you ensure nothing is missed due to untidiness or lack of legibility.<\/p>\n

Stay organised to manage time<\/strong><\/p>\n

When going through the paper, start making mental notes on how you want to approach each section. While it can be tough to decide all the time spent before-hand, giving yourself some time at the end to double-check your answers and calculations is important.<\/p>\n

Our suggestion would be to go about it sequentially. If you feel you are going wrong on an answer, take a deep breath and go through it again, but move on if you\u2019re feeling truly stuck. You can always come back to it at the end.<\/p>\n

Stay calm and collected<\/strong><\/p>\n

Coming across a difficult question or section can make you feel overwhelmed. In case this happens, take a few deep breaths and patiently go over the question. Examiners look for new ways to dress up old problems, and it\u2019s very possible to miss this if you get impatient.<\/p>\n
