Harsh parenting is a parenting style characterized by high expectations and low responsiveness. Parents who are strict towards their kids have very high expectations of their children and offer little nurturance and feedback. Harsh parenting involves using tactics, such as physical and verbal aggression, which may worsen the behaviours they wish to prevent. The worst part about this situation is that children whose parents use harsh tactics have poor academic outcomes and when it comes to competitive exams, this behaviour can backfire.<\/p>\n

Below is a list of a few educational outcomes of harsh parenting:<\/h2>\n

1) Low Confidence<\/h3>\n

Children who are treated harshly by their parents often have lower confidence.When parents exert strong psychological control over their children,it leads to low self-esteem, low grades, and problematic behaviour.<\/p>\n

2) Become More Reliant on Peers<\/h3>\n

Children with aggressive parents are more likely to put their friends first and indulge in activities that make them feel good in the short term, rather than focus on their career. Kids end up breaking the rules such as avoiding homework ornot solving mock tests to go out with their friends.<\/p>\n

3) Make Wrong Decisions<\/h3>\n
