This year nearly 1.33 million candidates appeared for the test to secure admission in MBBS and BDS courses in various Government and private medical colleges in the country. The examination was conducted by CBSE across 2225 centers under strict supervision. The year 2018 witnessed a sharp increase in the number of students who appeared for the test.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">After a quick chat with the students and our own analysis of the NEET 2018 question paper, the overview of this year\u2019s question pattern can be summarized as under:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The questions from physics were difficult as reported by most students; they were bit lengthy as well<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Biology and chemistry questions were on the expected lines<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Biology had only a few application-based questions<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Keeping in mind what happened last year, CBSE issued strict guidelines of dos and don\u2019ts for the candidates. They were strictly asked not to carry any stationery items inside the examination hall. These include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Geometry box<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bits of paper<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Easer<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mobile<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bluetooth devices and phone<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Plastic pouch, pen, scale, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Furthermore, a strict dress code was also imposed keeping in mind the high flung drama that happened last year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Before we dig deeper into the analysis of NEET 2018 question paper, here is a quick break-up of the number of questions between Biology, Physics and Chemistry.<\/span><\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"312\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Subject<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<td width=\"312\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>No. of Questions<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"312\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Biology (Zoology + Botany)<\/span><\/td>\n<td width=\"312\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">90<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"312\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Physics<\/span><\/td>\n<td width=\"312\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">45<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"312\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Chemistry<\/span><\/td>\n<td width=\"312\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">45<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"312\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Total<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<td width=\"312\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>180<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Let\u2019s begin our discussion on the subject wise analysis:<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Biology\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u2013<\/strong>According to our experts, Biology was the easiest of all the three sections. Most questions were from human physiology covering the NCERT syllabus and were largely concept-based. Out of 90 questions, 46 were from the XII standard while 44 from the XI standard syllabus. Having a few application-based questions, this section was easier than last year and had 9 difficult, 33 moderate and 48 easy questions. In addition to that, the majority of the questions from this section were of the medium-difficulty level.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dlp.aakash.ac.in\/medical\/neet-booster-test-series-2023?utm_source=seobanner&amp;utm_medium=DLP_aakashweb&amp;utm_campaign=Neet_Booster_blogcontent\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/d20x1nptavktw0.cloudfront.net\/wordpress_media\/2023\/02\/750x242.jpg\" width=\"750\" height=\"242\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Chemistry \u2013<\/strong> On our initial inquiry, many students found the Chemistry section of the question paper quite moderate. This section had 1 difficult, 20 moderate and 24 easy questions. The question paper carried an equal number of questions from both class XI and XII syllabus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Physics \u2013<\/strong>The overall difficulty level of Physics section of the question paper was tough while also being lengthy. There were 24 questions from the 12th standard and 21 questions from the 11th standard syllabus. This section had 2 difficult, 9 moderate and 34 easy questions. Most of questions were concept based and required a lot of calculation. Even the theoretical part of the question paper required a lot of conceptual understanding to answer. Given the type and nature of questions, it is not surprising that many students found Physics questions extremely difficult.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This overview of question paper will not only help candidates who appeared in this year\u2019s examination but will also benefit aspiring candidates for the following year.
