<\/a>With a high competition in NEET rising each year, NEET 2018 Analysis and review will help aspirants know their chances of clearing the exam, learn how the faculty at Aakash found the exam in difficulty levels and get a rough idea of NEET 2018 cutoff score while aspirants anxiously wait for their NEET 2018 results. This year has seen a sharp increase in the number of students attempting NEET. This drastic increase is primarily due to the increase in the number of states opting for NEET Scores over state-level Common Entrance Tests for admissions in medical colleges. Now that the exam is over, here are a few FAQs that will help in providing you with complete exam analysis.<\/p>\n

1. Please share your overall analysis of NEET 2018. Which section was the toughest of all?<\/h3>\n

Overall the NEET paper was a balanced one. Physics was the toughest section with being a bit lengthy, Chemistry being moderate and Biology being the easiest one. Most questions were based on NCERT directly with a few questions requiring higher order thinking, especially in Biology and Physics. Students who would have revised NCERT thoroughly and would have done ample practice for NEET would have fared well today.<\/p>\n

2. Can you elaborate which was the toughest section and why?<\/h3>\n

We cannot say that any of the section was tough. Questions had a reasonable mix of factual, theoretical and numerical questions, approx 20% and 80% respectively. Biology this year had few out of ordinary conceptual questions, similar to Physics. The attempt of these will define the top rankers.<\/p>\n

3. How class 11th<\/sup> and 12th<\/sup> syllabuses were effective this year?<\/h3>\n

There was healthy participation from both class 11th<\/sup> and 12th<\/sup> syllabus. However this year class 12 syllabus or concepts questions were slightly more in number.<\/p>\n

4. How different was the NEET 2018 from the previous year? Were there any differences in the sections?<\/h3>\n

2018 NEET was absolutely in line with 2017 NEET exam. No pattern or question type surprises or this time. A lot of the biology questions were similar to the previous year question papers.<\/p>\n

5. This year an additional 2 lakh candidates applied for NEET as compared to last year. Will this make any impact in NEET Cut off scores?<\/h3>\n

Due to an increase in the number of aspirants, there should be an increase in the cut off. Overall the level of the paper was on easier side. We can expect the general category 15% quota cut off to be in the range of 480-490.<\/p>\n
