The result has been announced well within time to keep the counselling and medical college admission calendar on track.<\/p>\n<p>Close to <strong>20 lakh candidates<\/strong> appeared for NEET (UG) 2026 on 21 June 2026, across <strong>5,440 centres in 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad<\/strong>. The qualifying percentile continues to be fixed by NEET regulations at <strong>50th percentile for General<\/strong>, <strong>45th for General-PwD<\/strong>, and <strong>40th for SC\/ST\/OBC<\/strong> candidates, with actual cut-off marks varying based on this year&#8217;s difficulty level and candidate performance.<\/p>\n<h2>How Was the Result Declared So Quickly?<\/h2>\n<p>NTA re-engineered its process this year, running several stages in parallel rather than one after another, and de-linking the OMR sheet challenge from the answer key release.
