From 2026 onwards, students will appear for board exams <\/span><b>twice a year<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> instead of once. This change follows the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which aims to reduce exam stress and give students more chances to perform better.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new system is being introduced to make exams more flexible and student-friendly. Students will not feel the pressure of scoring high in just one attempt, as they will have another opportunity within the same year.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>When Will CBSE Conduct Class 10 Board Exams in 2026?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CBSE will now conduct Class 10 board exams in <\/span><b>two phases<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>First Phase:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> February 2026 \u2013 This attempt is <\/span><b>mandatory<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for all students.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Second Phase:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> May 2026 \u2013 This is <\/span><b>optional<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and meant for those who want to improve their marks.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students can appear in both exams, and the best score out of the two will be considered. Result of the February exam will be declared in April, and the May exam result will be declared in June.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Benefits of Twice-a-Year CBSE Board Exams for Students<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The biggest benefit is <\/span><b>less pressure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Students will no longer worry about doing well in just one exam. Other key benefits include<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Second chance to score better<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in up to three subjects<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>No need to repeat the entire year<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> if marks are low in first attempt<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Freedom to improve performance<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with extra time to study<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Reduced anxiety<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and better time management<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>More confidence<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and better planning for future studies<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Can Students Reappear in CBSE Class 10 Board Exams?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yes, students can reappear in the second board exam of the same year. But there are some rules:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students can only reappear in <\/span><b>up to three subjects<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The second attempt in May is <\/span><b>optional<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, not compulsory<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only those unhappy with their February marks or who missed the first exam can apply<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students from <\/span><b>special categories<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, like those in winter-bound areas or athletes, can also appear only in the second phase if needed<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>How Will Results Be Calculated in the New CBSE Format?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CBSE will calculate results based on the <\/span><b>best score<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from both attempts.
