\nThe JEE Main 2018 offline exam was held on the 8th<\/sup> of April, 2018. The experts at Aakash analyzed the paper. We also spoke to students about their inputs. This is the complete JEE Main 2018 paper analysis.<\/p>\n

This year there is a dip in the number of students attempting JEE. Close to 12 lakh students appeared for this exam as compared to the 13 lakh last year. The number of exam centres increased dramatically this year. The exam was held across 258 centres as opposed to the 113 centres last year. Out of the 12 lakh students, only 2.24 lakh students will be eligible for appearing in the JEE Advanced 2018 exam which is scheduled on the 20th<\/sup> of May, 2018.<\/p>\n

The JEE Main Exam is considered to be one of the most challenging exams in India. Its score is a qualifying factor for securing admissions in the most prestigious engineering institutes in the country like the IITs, NITs and several other institutes.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>JEE Main 2018 Paper Pattern<\/h3>\n

The JEE Main 2018 exam was a three hour long exam. The online exam will be held on the 15th<\/sup> and 16th<\/sup> April. The offline exam had a total of 90 questions worth 4 marks each. It consisted of 3 sections Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each section had equal weightage that is each section consisted of 30 questions worth 120 marks. All the questions were objective, multiple choice questions. The JEE Exam has negative marking also, so a wrong answer results in a deduction of 1 mark. Questions that have not been attempted do not face negative marking.<\/p>\n

JEE Main 2018 Mathematics Paper Analysis<\/h3>\n

The Mathematics paper overall was slightly on the difficult side. There were seven to eight lengthy questions, but a few questions were straightforward as well. Questions were asked from all chapters. Questions asked were conceptual and nearer to the JEE Advanced paper in terms of tricks and approach. Students whose study was confined to NCERT and related text books would find it difficult. Equal weightage was given to 11th<\/sup> and 12th<\/sup> syllabus.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/h3>\n

Overall the JEE (Main) 2018 was slightly on the difficult side. A few questions in the paper were straightforward and could be solved by all those who prepared for the paper sincerely. But a large number of questions required lengthy solutions. Overall, in the Mathematics section the questions were slightly on easier this side. \u00a0By and large, paper was on the expected lines with few elements of surprise. Almost all the topics were covered as prescribed by CBSE for JEE (Main).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
