It’s that special time of the year again when the air is filled with fervor and festivity. Akshaya Tritiya, celebrated across the country, is hailed as one of the most auspicious occasions. During this time, people engage in various activities such as purchasing jewellery, gold, silver, properties, vehicles, or homes. The belief is that acquisitions made on Akshaya Tritiya will never diminish in value, as the term “Akshaya” denotes things that are indestructible. Devotees also honor Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kuber, seeking their divine blessings. As we prepare to observe this auspicious day, here are some key points to bear in mind:<\/p>\n

Date:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As per Drik Panchang, Akshaya Tritiya falls on May 10 this year. The auspicious muhurat for Akshaya Tritiya puja commences at 5:33 AM and concludes at 12:13 PM on May 10.<\/p>\n

History:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

According to Hindu mythology, a significant event occurred during Akshaya Tritiya. Legend has it that during the Pandavas’ exile, Lord Krishna visited them unexpectedly. When Draupadi failed to prepare a grand feast to welcome him, she sought forgiveness by falling at his feet. Lord Krishna forgave her, taking a single strand of herb from the food bowl. As a blessing, he bestowed upon the Pandavas the Akshaya Patra \u2013 a bowl that would never run out of food or offerings. Another legend recounts that Akshaya Tritiya marks the day when Lord Kuber received blessings from Lord Shiva and Lord Brahma, entrusted with the guardianship of heaven’s wealth.<\/p>\n
