Recognizing the unique challenges faced by students with Type-1 diabetes during exam periods, CBSE has taken proactive measures to extend several facilities aimed at facilitating their needs. Under these guidelines, students with Type-1 diabetes are permitted to carry specific items into the examination hall to help them manage their condition effectively. These items include sugar tablets, chocolates, candies, fruits such as bananas, apples, and oranges, snack items like sandwiches, high-protein diets, prescribed medicines, a 500ml water bottle, glucometer, glucose testing strips, Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) machine, Flash Glucose Monitoring (FGM) machine, and\/or insulin pumps.<\/p>\n
To avail themselves of these facilities, students must adhere to certain StandCBSE ard Operating Procedures (SOPs) outlined by CBSE. Firstly, they are required to disclose their Type-1 diabetes condition to the board during the registration process or while submitting the List of Candidates (LOC). Subsequently, either the students themselves or their school\/parents must communicate with the examination center at least a day prior to the commencement of the examination to inform the Center Superintendent about the specific items they intend to carry. Additionally, students must ensure their presence at the examination center at least 45 minutes before the scheduled exam time and be seated in the exam hall by 9:45 am.<\/p>\n
Moreover, to facilitate the process, students are mandated to upload certain documents on the CBSE portal. These documents include recommendations from medical specialists endorsing the use of CGM\/FGM\/insulin pumps during the examinations and a parent\u2019s undertaking guaranteeing that these devices will not be utilized as communication devices that could potentially compromise the integrity of the exams.<\/p>\n
