The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued guidelines directing schools to meticulously upload accurate marks for practical examinations on its portal. In an official release, the board underscored that the precise publication of students’ results on the portal is a crucial responsibility entrusted to schools. Emphasizing the significance of this task, the CBSE aims to prevent any issues for students in the future.<\/p>\n

The CBSE Class 10 and 12 practical exams will take place from January 1 to February 15, 2024. The release highlighted an observed lapse wherein some schools neglected this responsibility, leading to errors. To address this, the board has consistently reminded schools about the importance of accuracy when uploading marks for practical, projects, and internal assessments.<\/p>\n

The release outlined specific precautions that school principals, internal examiners, and external examiners (as applicable) should adhere to during the conduct of practicals. It stressed the necessity of referring to the board’s circulars and instructions, verifying mark details from the curriculum document, conducting practicals with accurate mark allocation, and thoroughly cross-verifying the uploaded marks before the final submission.<\/p>\n

Guidelines for Principals Ensuring Prudent Practical Examination Conduct<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Thorough Familiarization with Board Circulars<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Internal and external examiners must acquaint themselves with the board’s circulars and instructions before commencing practical work. Strict adherence to these guidelines is imperative.<\/p>\n

Verification of Mark Details and Bifurcation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Examiners should meticulously verify the details of marks and the bifurcation of marks as outlined in the curriculum document.<\/p>\n

Conduct of Practical and Awarding Marks<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Following verification, practicals should be conducted, and marks must be awarded based on the predetermined allocation for various activities in the practical\/project\/internal assessment.<\/p>\n

Verification before Uploading on the Board Portal<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Before uploading marks on the board portal, the principal should verify with both internal and external examiners to ensure accurate marking against the maximum marks allocated for the subject.<\/p>\n

Upload Correct Marks and Cross-Verification:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Correct marks should be uploaded on the server after verification. A printout of the uploaded marks should be obtained and cross-matched once again before the final submission on the portal.<\/p>\n

Signing of Award List:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The award list, containing the final marks, must be signed by both internal and external examiners, as well as the principal, for record-keeping purposes.<\/p>\n

The board underscored the significance of these precautions by citing a recent case where the Delhi High Court dismissed a petitioner’s plea to rectify marks erroneously uploaded on the server. Once uploaded, the marks become conclusive for result declaration, and no corrections will be entertained thereafter.<\/p>\n

With Class 12 board exams scheduled from February 15 to April 2, 2024, and Class 10 board exams set to be held from February 15 to March 13, the CBSE is urging schools to exercise diligence and vigilance in the crucial process of marking and uploading, ensuring accuracy and adherence to guidelines for a seamless examination result declaration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
