This figure surpasses the combined registrations of the January and April sessions in 2023 by almost 68,000, indicating a substantial increase in participation. Notably, compared to the initial session of the examination in 2023, the number of applicants has risen by an impressive 3.7 lakh.<\/p>\n<p>Scheduled between January 24 and February 1, 2024, the first session of this entrance test for undergraduate engineering and architecture\/planning programs promises to be a pivotal event. Following this, the registration process for the April session will reopen, and the results of the January 2024 session are set to be announced on February 12, 2024. Stay tuned for further updates on this significant academic endeavor!<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Maharashtra Leads the Way in JEE (Main) 2024 Registrations<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Maharashtra emerges as the front-runner with an impressive 1.6 lakh registrations for JEE (Main) 2024, setting the pace for other states. Following closely are Andhra Pradesh with 1.3 lakh registrations and Telangana with 1.2 lakh, showcasing a substantial increase compared to the 2023 exams. In the previous year, Maharashtra recorded 1.3 lakh registrations, Andhra Pradesh had 1 lakh, and Telangana saw 95,000.<\/p>\n<p>Encouragingly, female representation has seen a marginal improvement, constituting over 33% of the total registrations for JEE (Main) 2024, up from 30.8% in 2023. Additionally, the test has garnered significant interest from the third gender, with 19 registrations.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>JEE (Main) 2024 Embraces Diversity with 13 Languages<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>JEE (Main) 2024 is set to be conducted in a diverse array of 13 languages, catering to a broad spectrum of candidates. These languages include English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Notably, the number of test-takers in English has surpassed 11 lakh, while Hindi medium examinees have witnessed a slight decline to around 40,000. Gujarati registers the third-highest number with 16,731 candidates.<\/p>\n<p>Aspiring candidates must be aware that they can appear for the JEE (Main) exam for three consecutive years, with two sessions each year, providing a total of six attempts for JEE Mains 2024.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s essential for candidates to note that NTA has reintroduced the eligibility criterion of scoring 75% marks in JEE Mains. To secure admission to desired institutes, candidates must achieve a minimum of 75% in their class 12th exams. Failure to meet this criterion will result in disqualification, barring candidates from admission to prestigious institutions, including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.
