While cracking JEE Main opens up your possibilities to get into top regional engineering colleges and NITs, securing qualifying marks in JEE Advanced lets you join the 23 IITs, IISCs, and more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Difference Between JEE Main and JEE Advanced<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The joint entrance examination for JEE is conducted in 2 forms: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. It is an entrance exam for undergraduate engineering programs like B.Arc, B.E, B. plan, and B.Tech in the nation&#8217;s top colleges. Both exams are extremely important for all the students aspiring to be engineers. However, there are many fundamental differences between the two. Below you will read about the differences between the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aakash.ac.in\/jee-main-exam\">JEE main exam<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aakash.ac.in\/jee-advanced-exam\">JEE Advanced exam<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eligibility Criteria\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Every student who has secured passing marks in the senior secondary exam from the science stream can appear for JEE Main exam. However, for a student to get admission in NITs, CFTIs, and IITs, they must secure a minimum of 75%.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand, for students to be eligible for JEE Advanced exam, they need to qualify for JEE Main exams and be among the top 20 lakh candidates.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Number Of Attempts And Age Limit<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">JEE Main exam does not have any limitation on the number of attempts. However, students can sit for the JEE Advanced exam for a minimum of 2 years in a row.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is no age-based limitation for candidates to appear for the JEE Main exam. On the other hand, for candidates to appear in the JEE Advanced exam, they must be under the age of 25. However, 5-year age relaxation is provided to students belonging to SC, ST, and PWD categories.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mode Of Exam<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The JEE Main exam has two papers. The first paper is for B.Tech and B.E. and is conducted online. The second paper is for B. Arch and B. Planning, conducted offline through a pen and paper-based mode.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand, JEE Advanced consists of two compulsory papers, which are computer-based and conducted online.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Distribution Of Marks\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The JEE Main exam tests students with 90 multiple-choice questions carrying 300 marks and is divided into Physics, Maths, and Chemistry. All three categories consist of 30 questions each and carry a maximum score of +4 for every correct answer and -1 for incorrect answers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand, the JEE Advanced exam consists of 54 multiple choice questions carrying 306 marks, which are divided into two papers and three topics; Math, Physics, and Chemistry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Syllabus<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The JEE Main exam syllabus consists of Maths, Physics, and Chemistry topics for Classes 11 and 12.
