Let’s be honest. Getting into a mug of freshly prepared hot coffee is so much more than setting your drip to wake up every morning. With all due respect to the chai lovers, there are things that only coffee lovers would understand. Like\u2026<\/span>you know the best places where you can get coffee at all times.<\/p>\n

We get nervous if there are no good coffee shops around. And living on bad coffee is not an option, so the type of coffee around is equally as important.<\/p>\n

If you are a coffee lover or a coffee person and prefer to start off your morning with freshly brewed coffee, then you know it: It hardly takes 10 mins to make one!<\/p>\n

But.. But…<\/strong><\/h4>\n

More than 130 years ago, it took several hours to prepare a cup of coffee. So, out of a desire for the first-morning coffee to be ready as soon as possible, the Espresso was born.<\/p>\n

Yes, talking about that Espresso- the coffee-making machine that serves us the concentrated coffee that all of us have tried in small shots. If you are one coffee fanatic, you must know how intoxicating and satisfying the smell can be. Completely understanding your true love for the perfect cuppa, we bring you the man behind this amazing Espresso machine. He is Angelo Moriondo.<\/p>\n

Today, 6 June, marks his 171st birthday, and Google Doodle pays tribute to celebrate his birthday.<\/p>\n

So who is Angelo Moriondo?<\/h3>\n

Angelo Moriondo was born Born on 6 June 1851, in Italy. He grew up in a family of entrepreneurs who never stopped brewing new ideas. His grandfather founded a liquor production company that was passed down to his son, who later built the popular chocolate company known as ‘Moriondo and Gariglio’.<\/p>\n

Angelo purchased the Grand-Hotel Ligure in the city-centre Piazza Carlo Felice and the American Bar in the Galleria Nazionale of Via Roma. This was when you came across the truth!<\/p>\n

Why is he considered the Godfather of the Espresso Machine?<\/h3>\n

While coffee was extremely popular in Italy, he saw people spending a lot of time waiting for the coffee to brew. He came to the rescue of the customers and figured that making multiple cups of <\/span>coffee<\/span> at once would allow him to serve more customers at a faster pace, giving him an edge over his competitors. This is when the idea of inventing the Espresso machine came in.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moriondo patented the first known Espresso machine, which consisted of a large boiler that pushed heated water through a bed of coffee grounds. It has a second boiler that produces steam that would flash the bed of coffee and complete the brewing process.<\/span><\/p>\n

Confidence was all he had. He presented his Espresso machine at the General Expo of Turin in 1884, where it was awarded the bronze medal. He received a patented title too.<\/span><\/p>\n

As Angelo Moriondo invested his life in creating the earliest recorded espresso machine that serves people instant hot and freshly brewed coffee, he is greatly considered the Godfather of the Espresso Machine.<\/span><\/p>\n
