This statement is not clear, and we can&#8217;t decide whether it&#8217;s true or false.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The statement should be either true or false.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The statements can be simple or compound.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Simple Statement<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If a statement cannot be further broken down into different statements or it is itself complete, then it is called a Simple Statement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A kite is not a rhombus.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">11 is an odd number.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Compound Statement<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If a statement can further be broken down into simpler statements, forming two or more main statements, then it is called a Compound Statement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, 20 is non-negative and a multiple of 5. This statement can be into two independent statements:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">20 is non-negative.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">20 is a multiple of 5.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Basic Logical Connectivities<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Logical Connective is a symbol used to connect two or more simple statements in such a manner that the resultant logic is a compound statement. Some of the common connectives are given below:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Logical Negation<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Logical Conjunction (AND)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Logical Disjunction (Inclusive OR)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Logical Implication (Conditional)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Logical Biconditional (Double Implication)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Conditional Statement<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If a connective \u201cif-then\u201d is used to make the compound statement if p then q, it is a conditional statement. It is also called an implication and is written as p =&gt; q.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, If the laptop has a keyboard, then the clock has a needle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let p= laptop has a mouse and q= clock has a pendulum.
