Not only did he change the map of Bengali literature in India, but he was also the backbone of the Indian freedom struggle through his music and poetry.<\/p>\n<p>Rabindranath Tagore was often called as &#8216;Gurudev&#8217; and the collection of his poems is popularly known as Rabindrasangeet. We all know two of his poems as the national anthems of India and Bangladesh- Jana Gana Mana and Amar Shonar Bangla.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti 2022: The Significance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the Bengali calendar, Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti is celebrated on the 25th day of Boisakh, and according to the English calendar, it is celebrated on May 7 every year. This year marks the 161st birthday of Rabindranath Tagore. The great poet was born on May 7, 1861, in Jorasanko Thakurbai, Calcutta<\/p>\n<p>He is known not only to change the map of Bengali literature in India, but is also the linchpin of the Indian freedom struggle through his music and poems.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti is being celebrated today, on 9<sup>th<\/sup> May, 2022?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rabindra Jayanti celebrates the birth anniversary of the great Bengali poet, scholar, novelist, playwright, humanist, philosopher, and Nobel laureate\u2014Rabindranath Tagore.
