This day is established by the United Nations General Assembly to raise awareness about the importance of Tuna Day. \u00a0The day was first observed in 2017. The main aim of this day was to preserve the tuna fish from crashing. Tuna is a large wild animal.\u00a0 Tuna fish has several rich qualities such as Omega 3, Vitamin B12, proteins, and other minerals. It is economically important for both developed and developing countries. Thailand is one of the largest Tuna producing countries in the world.<\/p>\n<h3>World Tuna Day 2022: Theme<\/h3>\n<p>The theme of the World Tuna day this year is \u2018The Global Tuna Industry: Trailblazing through tough times. There are several countries that depend on tuna resources for food security and nutrition, livelihood, etc.<\/p>\n<h3>Significance of the World Tuna Day<\/h3>\n<p>World Tuna Day aims at spreading awareness about the overfishing of Tuna and the importance of maintaining the ecosystem and the food chain.\u00a0 There are more than 80 countries that have tuna fisheries and the number and capacity of these fisheries are constantly growing. There are several types of Tuna that are now endangered. This is because of the overfishing of tunas.
