This day will primarily focus on addressing the outbreak of infectious diseases at work, focusing on the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<h3>What is the world day for safety and health at work all about?<\/h3>\n<p>It is an international observance day that is designed to raise public awareness of occupational health and safety. First introduced in 2003 by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to help prevent work-related accidents and illness globally. Throughout the last two years of the pandemic, having a robust occupational health and safety framework that is all-inclusive at government and industry levels has been crucial in protecting the working environment and workers&#8217; health and safety.<\/p>\n<h3>Why Support World Day for Safety and Health?<\/h3>\n<p>Taking part in the World Day for Safety and Health at work helps raise awareness of the problem internationally and promotes a prevention culture.<\/p>\n<h3><u>Aims and Objectives:\u00a0<\/u><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It promotes the prevention of occupational\u00a0accidents and diseases globally.<\/li>\n<li>It is an awareness-raising campaign to focus International attention on the magnitude of the problem and on how promoting and\u00a0creating a safety and health culture\u00a0can help in\u00a0reducing\u00a0the number of\u00a0work-related deaths and injuries.<\/li>\n<li>The ILO is using this day to raise awareness of the adoption of safe practices in workplaces and the role that Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) services play.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Today, on World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we want to increase public knowledge of health and safety issues through social media blog posts.
