With the number of COVID-19 cases rising in Delhi-NCR, concerns have been raised about the upcoming CBSE Term 2 Exam 2023. Last week, several schools in Delhi-NCR, including a few private schools in Noida and Ghaziabad reported COVID positive cases among students and staff members. The recent rise in cases all over has raised serious concern among students, parents, and even exam organizers about the feasibility of holding offline exams such as CBSE 10th and 12th Exam 2023 for Term 2.<\/p>\n
The CBSE Term 2 Exam 2023 is to begin on 26th April 2023. With less than one week to go for the CBSE 10th and 12th Term 2 Exams 2023, schools and exam centres are all concerned about conducting the offline exam. With the COVID situation under control until the start of April month, exam centres were making preparations in accordance with the same with relaxed guidelines and preventive measures. But the recent spark, especially in schools in Delhi and NCR regions has been a warning for most exam centre authorities, who say that they will have to ensure strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.<\/p>\n
There is no update released as of now about how to handle students who might be exhibiting COVID-like symptoms. Several exam centres in the Delhi-NCR region have decided to create a dedicated room for such students. In case, any student who comes to appear for the CBSE 10th or 12th Term 2 Exam showcases fever or cold symptoms, they will be isolated immediately and made to write exams in a separate room. While the board is yet to confirm this policy, exam centres have been preparing for the same at their end.<\/p>\n
Can the Exam Centre Change if Covid Case is Found?<\/strong><\/p>\n As per the latest COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Delhi Government, any school where a coronavirus case is found has to be closed down completely. This policy has again raised a concern among parents, students and exam organizers as to what action will be taken in case a COVID-19 positive case is found at the exam centre. It is being suggested that in such a case the concerned exam centre should be cancelled and a new exam centre to be allotted for the rest of the students. On the other hand, there are also suggestions that to avoid any further spread of the virus, exams for students appearing from such this centre should be postponed to a later date.<\/p>\n Demand by Students for Cancellation<\/strong><\/p>\n Several CBSE, ICSE, and ISC students have been running online campaigns demanding the cancellation of Term 2 Exams altogether. Citing health concerns and the risk of contracting COVID-19 during the examination, students have been urging CBSE Board to cancel the upcoming CBSE 10th and 12th Term 2 Exams 2023.<\/p>\n Students stated that safety precautions like mask mandates are very difficult to be followed,\u00a0especially given the intense heatwave. Many students have said that ensuring that all students are wearing face masks during the entire duration of the exam will be a difficult task for the invigilators.<\/p>\n Will CBSE be cancelling Class 10 & 12 term 2 exams?<\/strong><\/p>\n Now coming to the most important point that is on the minds of lakhs of students, Will CBSE Cancel Term 2 Exams 2023 for 10th and 12th Class students? The answer to this is simply \u2018No\u2019. As of now, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not given any hint about the cancellation or postponement of the Term 2 Exams. In fact, the board is prepared to hold CBSE Term 2 Exam 2023 amid strict\u00a0 COVID-19 guidelines and will ensure the complete safety of students during the same. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that the Term 2 Exam 2023 will be cancelled.
