The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to restore the pre-pandemic exam format for the next academic year, which means the Class 10 and 12 board exams are not likely to be split into two parts.<\/p>\n

For the 2021-22 academic year, CBSE has introduced a bifurcated format with two terms: the term 1 board exams were held in November-December last year, while the term 2 exams are scheduled to start on April 26.\u00a0 As per the notifications released earlier, it is stated that more weightage will be given to the term 2 exams.<\/p>\n

However, in terms of the syllabus rationalization, CBSE will stick to the policy that it had followed over the last two years where the syllabus was reduced by 30 percent. An announcement is yet to be released by NCERT sharing the details of the rationalization of the syllabus.<\/p>\n

The National Education Policy 2020 proposed that all candidates will be allowed to take the board exams on up to two occasions in an academic year – one main examination and one for improvement to eliminate the high stakes aspect of board exams.<\/p>\n

While the board exams for grades 10 and 12 will be continued, the existing system of board and entrance examinations shall be improved to eliminate the need for undertaking coaching classes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
