In the latest notification, Delhi University has released its admission policy for the year 2022-23. DU Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh said that the eligibility will be decided based on the marks secured on Common University Entrance Test (CUET).<\/p>\n

Until last year, the marks scored in Class 12 board exams were used to determine admission to Delhi University which led to sky-high cut-offs.<\/p>\n

Singh also said that the School of Open Learning and the National Collegiate Women’s Education Board have been exempted from this.\u00a0He described the new admission policy as historic. He added that admission to all undergraduate programmes will be done through CUET this year.<\/p>\n

This year, it is mandatory for all candidates to appear in CUET<\/a>, including all those seeking admission to supernumerary seats. The eligibility criteria will be decided based on marks obtained in CUCET.<\/p>\n

30% More Students in the Counselling<\/strong><\/p>\n

He further added that during the e-counseling session that would take place once the CUET results are announced, they will admit 30% more students than the authorized seats so that in the event of cancellation, the seats will be equal.<\/p>\n

DU Admission in Minority Colleges<\/strong><\/p>\n

85% of the marks for admission will be collected from the CUET and the remaining 15% will be decided by the colleges in the 50 percent seats allotted for minority colleges.<\/p>\n

Minority colleges like Jesus and Mary, St Stephen’s, and Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa have 50% seats reserved for minority communities.<\/p>\n

In addition, the authorities also stated that the candidates will be able to appear for CUET only in those subjects which have been studied by them in Class 12. The merit will also be calculated based on the combination of those subjects in which the candidates have appeared in CUET.<\/p>\n

There are three sections in CUET. The first section is divided into two parts consisting of 13 languages in the first part and 20 languages in the second part.<\/p>\n

Candidates must appear in at least one language for admission to Delhi University. The second section of the entrance exam consists of 27 domain-specific topics. The third section is based on general knowledge which will be for admission to BA programmes only.<\/p>\n

Selecting Subjects<\/strong><\/p>\n

Also, for admission to most of the programmes of the Delhi University, a candidate has to choose at least three subjects from the domain-specific subject section.<\/p>\n

The second section is divided into two lists that is B1 and B2. Applicants must choose their subjects sensibly carefully so that they do not select more than one subject at a time.<\/p>\n

Eligibility for admission to most BSc programmes will be determined by physics, chemistry, mathematics, or biology. It is also mandatory to secure at least 30% in any one language.<\/p>\n

Students must take the CUET entrance exam in any one language from section one and any three subjects from the other section to get admission to the Bachelor of Arts Programme. The candidate\u2019s final score will be calculated by the marks obtained in the same subject and language.<\/p>\n

For admission to BA (Hons) Economics, it is mandatory for the applicants to take opt for Mathematics in CUET Syllabus<\/a>. Merit for this will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in the chosen language, Mathematics and any two subjects.<\/p>\n

When we had cut-off marks, we used to take best of four subject marks, similarly, here we will take into consideration the best score of CUET for final admission to DU.<\/p>\n

Candidates for the\u00a0BBA, BMS, and BBE degrees<\/strong>\u00a0must appear in one language, mathematics, and section 3 of the CUET. Candidates for\u00a0pass courses can choose between a language and one domain-specific subject or a three-subject test.<\/p>\n

DU Admission Counselling after CUET<\/h2>\n

Delhi University will offer e-counselling when the CUET results<\/a> are announced. Candidates will be able to select institutions of their choice, and colleges will be assigned to them based on their grades. Candidates will be given the chance to re-fill their choices prior to each counselling session. Three rounds of counselling will be carried out, with the third being a spot round.<\/p>\n

In addition to all this, there will be the provision of a help desk and various webinars that will help the candidates with the complete admission process.<\/p>\n

Yes, there is a negative marking in the Central University Common Entrance Test. 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
