From the academic year 2021-2022 onwards, CBSE has shifted to the two-term board-exam pattern.<\/p>\n<p>To make the students familiar with the new CBSE format, the board has released sample papers along with the marking scheme for the same. To go through the sample papers of all subjects, students need to go through the official CBSE Website.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few tips that will help you score well in English in CBSE class 10 board exams:<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000;\">1. Know the Exam Pattern<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>It is imperative to be aware of the blueprint of the CBSE Class X English paper. Proper knowledge of the exam pattern not only helps in knowing about the types of questions asked but also the distribution of marks. Additionally, it helps in making a strategy for preparation in advance, as to which questions need to be attempted first, how much time to devote to a particular question, etc. This will further help you to save time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The English paper has three sections:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Section A-READING<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>18 questions out of which 14 questions have to be attempted, as per specific instructions for each question. The questions are based on Discursive and Factual passages comprising Implied Idea questions, Data interpretation-based questions, Inference based questions, and contextual vocabulary questions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Section B-WRITING &amp; GRAMMAR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>12 questions, out of which 10 questions have to be attempted, as per specific instructions for each question. In the Writing section, the questions are based on Letter writing \u2013 Complaint letters (Business &amp; Official) and Letters to the Editor. In the Grammar section, the questions are based on Tenses, Modals, Subject-Verb Concord, Determiner, Reported Speech, and Sentence Transformation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Section C-LITERATURE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>30 questions out of which 26 questions have to be attempted, as per specific instructions for each question. The questions are of Reference to context type and Stand-alone MCQs. These questions include Inference based questions, Implied idea questions, Statement-Assertion based questions, True and False questions, Cause and Effect questions, and contextual vocabulary-based questions (synonyms, antonyms, analogy &amp; idioms, and phrases included)<\/p>\n<p>All the questions carry equal marks. There are no negative Markings.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000;\">2. Focus on basics and stick to the syllabus<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>You need to prepare the entire syllabus thoroughly. The focus should be on the understanding of the concepts. Thorough knowledge of the NCERT textbook is a must. Pay attention to every line of your NCERT textbook along with in-text questions and exercises so that you are confident to attempt any question in the exam.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000;\">3. Proper Revision of Important Topics<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Although it is essential to revise the entire syllabus thoroughly, pay extra attention to the important topics which hold more weight. Besides, solve previous years&#8217; papers and sample papers in a time-bound manner. This will not only ensure good written practice but also familiarize you with an exam-like scenario.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000;\">4. Review your study Notes<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s important to master the foundation of the subject by covering the introduction before advancing into deeper topics. Flashcards that you prepare while studying will help you understand key concepts to build your base knowledge. Using these study aids will also allow you to quickly review your notes before the exams.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000;\">5.
