It is a career which not only helps a child gain knowledge about various subjects but also helps a child recognize his strengths and weaknesses, helping them to become a better human being. It is believed that teachers are the creators and shapers of all times. They dedicate their lives to shape the lives of others. India has a long history as far as the field of education is concerned having wonderful teachers who have made significant contributions to the life of students.<\/p>\n<p>During the time of Covid, no doubt health officials, policemen and other community helpers like sanitary workers are doing a lot to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and their services were appreciated. But during all this, we forgot to thank someone who helped students unlock their passion even during the lockdown. These unsung heroes have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to protect the future of the nation, our children.<\/p>\n<p>September 5, the birth date of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, is celebrated as Teacher&#8217;s Day. Have a look at the finest teachers who made India great and who have left a mark in the field of education.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>1. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>One of the noblest teachers in the history of India, we all celebrate 5<sup>th<\/sup> September his birthday as teacher\u2019s day. He earned his acknowledgment in the study of Philosophy and it was he who promoted the study of spirituality. Right from the beginning, he had a passion to study and teaching students at home, serving them tea, greeting them, and leaving them at the door at the end of every session. His love for teaching was huge and he showed this by getting his birthday observed as a day that is dedicated to teachers.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>\u00a02.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>APJ Abdul Kalam<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Education is a powerful weapon that can be used to change the world<\/em>\u201d. These words showed that education was so important for him. He was a scientist and a great educator. He believed that primary education is the right of every child in society. It was he who believed that education leads to the personal growth of an individual. He taught students at several colleges and institutes. He loved teaching students as in his viewpoint there is nothing more important than education.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>3. Savitribai Phule<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Savitribai Phule is known as India\u2019s first female teacher. She is seen to be one of the best teachers in Indian history. She revolutionized India and together with her husband, started a school in 1848 where she enrolled untouchable girls of the society. Many people opposed this, but she remained calm and continued to teach. Later on, she opened five more such schools. Her journey as a teacher was not easy as she was very often humiliated by the upper caste society. The efforts put in by her were greatly appreciated by the British Government. She raised her strong opinion against the atrocities committed on women, especially on lower caste women. He believed that \u201c<em>The main objective of teaching is not to give explanations but to knock on the doors of the mind<\/em>.\u201d He is considered as one of the best teachers in Indian history and is still remembered for his scholastic excellence. He was a renowned teacher, a writer as well as a freedom fighter who fought against the British government. He supported activities to use for learning which helped students to develop both mental as well as physical faculties. His school at Shantiniketan, West Bengal emphasized teaching physical activities with basic education.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>5. Chanakya<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>While mentioning the names of the best teachers in Indian history and forgetting to mention Chanakya made the list of famous teachers incomplete. Chanakya was also known as Kautilya and Vishnugupta from the 4<sup>th<\/sup> century. He was a great philosopher and jurist during his time. He is the first Indian scholar known not only in the country but all across the world. Some of the principles of his study are known as \u2018<em>Chanakya Niti<\/em>.\u00a0 It is said that his tips and tricks regarding the situations have never failed. He served as a teacher at Takshshila University, one of the oldest universities across the nation. His two books \u2018Arthshastra and Neetishastra\u2019 are very popular, making him all the more famous.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>6. Premchand<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We all must have read and learned his poems in the Hindi Language. He is known to have contributed to Modern Hindustani Literature. He was greatly influenced by Swami Vivekanand. He has gained fame as one of the first Hindi writers who wrote on the realism of life.<\/p>\n<p>These talented teachers of Indian history played a significant role in the development of the education system and the growth of students. They lived exemplary lives and worked all their lives to uplift students. Teachers then and now have never failed to make a difference in the life of students.
