The experts at Aakash analyzed the paper. We also spoke to students about their inputs. This is the complete JEE Main 2021 paper analysis.

A total of 7.09 lakh students have registered for the JEE Main 2021 April session which is being conducted across 4 days in 8 slots. Nearly 1,60,000 students are expected to have appeared in the morning and evening shifts. Students have to attempt a total of 75 questions – 25 each of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. The marks awarded would be normalized as per the formula available on jeemain.nta.nic.in. Students would then be ranked basis their percentile score or NTA score.

The JEE Main Exam is considered to be one of the most challenging exams in India. Its score is a qualifying factor for securing admissions in the most prestigious engineering institutes in the country like the IITs, NITs, and several other institutes.

Check student reactions, question paper review, and other details here.

Difficulty Level

It was a paper of Easy to Moderate level. Physics was the easiest of the lot whereas Mathematics was of easy to moderate level with slightly lengthy calculations involved. Chemistry too was easy to moderate levels. A detailed subject-wise analysis is given below.

Chemistry

The paper was by and large based on NCERT books. Eight of the numerical-based questions were from Physical Chemistry and the remaining two were from Organic Chemistry. Overall the questions from the Physical, Organic and Inorganic divisions were evenly distributed. A thorough study of the NCERT books, solving NCERT examples, and mock tests will certainly guarantee you success.

Physics

According to many students, the Physics part was the easiest of the lot. 3 to 4 questions from Current Electricity and Electrostatics, 3 to 4 questions from Kinematics, 2 to 3 questions from Ray Optics and 3 questions from magnetics were there in the paper. A few other chapters were also included in due proportions. There were a decent number of numerical which were mainly formula based. It was an easy task for one who has solved a good amount of mock tests.

Mathematics

The Mathematics section was easy but slightly time-consuming due to the lengthy calculations. Questions were asked from calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Vectors & 3D and Algebra. Almost all topics were covered adequately. Once again, proper practice & solving a good amount of mock tests is the key to success.

Conclusion

Overall the JEE (Main) 2021 was a balanced paper that can be solved in the stipulated time. A few questions in the paper were straightforward and could be solved by all those who prepared for the paper sincerely. While some questions required lengthy calculations. Overall, the paper was of moderate level as per the students. By and large, the paper was on the expected lines with few elements of surprise. Almost all the topics were covered as prescribed by CBSE for JEE (Main).

The JEE Main exam was held from 20th July 2021.
