{"id":109851,"date":"2021-05-12T21:18:15","date_gmt":"2021-05-12T15:48:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aakash.ac.in\/blog\/?p=109851"},"modified":"2023-03-07T02:26:28","modified_gmt":"2023-03-06T20:56:28","slug":"students-from-aakash-institute-top-indian-olympiad-qualifier-in-biology-ioqb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aakash.ac.in\/blog\/students-from-aakash-institute-top-indian-olympiad-qualifier-in-biology-ioqb\/","title":{"rendered":"Students from Aakash Institute Top Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Biology (IOQB)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Due to the ongoing pandemic and rising cases in Coronavirus, many things changed this year in the procedure of IOQ (Indian Olympiad Qualifier).<\/p>\n<p>The National Olympiad programme in science subjects concluding in the international Olympiads of 2021 will now be following a two-stage selection procedure instead of the three stages.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Indian Olympiad Qualifier (IOQ) will be the first stage<\/li>\n<li>The Orientation cum Selection Camp (OCSC) will be the second stage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In a deviation from the usual three-stage process for selecting the final teams to represent India at the International Olympiads followed in the past years, the selection process for the 2021 cycle has been shortened to a two-stage process as an exemption.<\/p>\n<p>The results for the second stage examination of the Indian National Level Science Olympiad, the Indian Olympiad Qualifier have been declared.\u00a0 Six Aakashians have secured ranks in the <strong>Top 10 (AIR 1,2, 6, 8, 10)<\/strong> at the <strong>Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Biology<\/strong> which is the second stage exam of the Indian Nation Level Science Olympiad. The examination is a three-hour two-part exam that is jointly organized by the Association of Teachers in Biological Sciences in association with the Indian Association of Physics Teachers and Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE). It is a combination of two Examinations (Part 1: National Standard Examination (NSE) &amp; Part 2: Indian National Olympiad). Each year, almost 30,000 or more students sit for this exam. IOQB is intended for students of Class 12th, though 11th class students are also allowed to appear for the examination. There is a state-wise quota as per which candidates are selected for the next level. Also, all aspirants who score more than 80% of the average and the top ten scores at the national level automatically get selected irrespective of the quota.<\/p>\n<p>Aakashians who have secured top ranks are <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><strong>Dhiren Bhardwaj (AIR 1)<\/strong>, <strong>Anshul (AIR 2)<\/strong>, <strong>Sahil (AIR 6)<\/strong>, <strong>Darsh Kaustubh (AIR 8)<\/strong>, <strong>Tarunim Mukherjee (AIR 8) and Divyansh Soni (AIR 10)<\/strong><\/span>. Dhiren and Anshul will be representing India at the International Biology Olympiad (IBO) to be held between July 24-28, 2021. In total, 19 students from Aakash have cleared the part 2 examination. This is a great achievement for us.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from an impressive result at IOQB, two Aakashians <strong>(Anshul &amp; Vaibhav Bajaj)<\/strong> have also got selected in the Indian <strong>Olympiad Qualifier in Chemistry<\/strong> (IOQC) and one more student <strong>(Pravar Kataria)<\/strong> got selected in the <strong>Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Physics<\/strong> (IOQP). The achievements don&#8217;t end here. Three more Aakashians <strong>(Anmol Arichwal, Ayan Goswami, and Mayukh Chowdhury)<\/strong> have also got selected in the <strong>Indian National Mathematical Olympiad<\/strong> (INMO).<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, students from Aakash have shown a proven selection track record in various Medical and Engineering entrance exams. In short, Aakash plays a very significant role in the success of these students and helps them to move a step closer to achieving their dreams.
