What’s the Difference Between JEE Main and JEE Advanced?

The conducting authority of JEE Main is National Testing Agency (NTA), whereas, JEE Advanced is the seven Zonal Coordinating IITs.

The number of attempts for JEE Main is three, whereas, for JEE Advanced, it is two.

JEE Main is conducted in different languages, including English, Hindi, Kannada, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Odia, Punjabi, Malayalam, Marathi, Urdu, Tamil and Telugu.

Whereas, JEE Advanced is conducted only in English and Hindi.

Students who have passed Class 12 can write JEE Main, whereas, students who have ranked below 2,50,000 in JEE Main can only write JEE Advanced.

In JEE Main, Paper 1 (B.E. /B. Tech.) is an online exam and Paper 2A (B.Arch.) is online for Maths & Aptitude but offline for the Drawing test.

JEE Main is for getting admission into B.E/B.Tech. courses at IIITs, NITs, CFTIs, and other state government colleges.

Whereas, JEE Advanced is for getting admission to popular Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
