Non-biodegradable substances that microorganisms cannot easily degrade.

Microorganisms cannot easily break down harmful chemicals present in the non-biodegradable waste.

Examples - Aluminium cans - Plastics   - Glass, etc.

Radioactive waste produced during nuclear reactions takes a long time to decay and is harmful to human beings.

Sources of non-biodegradable wastes Nowadays, computer and mobile wastes are collectively called  e-waste, which is also harmful to the environment.

Domestic non-biodegradable waste includes  - Metal and steel  utensils -Plastic waste and  polythene covers.

Agricultural non-biodegradable waste includes packing material, old machinery, synthetic fertilisers and pesticides.

Non-biodegradable waste from hospitals includes syringes, expired medicines, bottles and surgical tools.

Industrial non-biodegradable waste includes heavy chemicals like Cadmium, Chromium, Lead, Arsenic and Selenium etc.

Waste from construction sites includes cement, concrete, and old building debris, which are also non-biodegradable wastes.
