What's the difference
The speed with which light waves propagate through different materials.
The speed of light in a vacuum is estimated to be 299,792,458 meters per second and approximated as 3*10 power 8 meters per second.
It is the distance traveled by a sound wave in an elastic medium per unit of time.
The speed of sound in air is found to be 343 mps provided a temperature of about 20 °C.
The speed of sound in water is 4 times faster than the speed of sound in the dry air.
The most important thing that differentiates sound from light is that sound cannot travel in a vacuum but light can.
Also, the speed of light is a constant, but the speed of sound varies from one medium to the other.
Most importantly, light doesn’t need any medium to travel but sound waves or water waves need a medium to travel through.
Sound is a longitudinal wave and light is a form of electromagnetic wave.
