Torque is called the rotational equivalent of linear force.
There are 2 types of torque forces. They are:
– Static torque – Dynamic torque
Static torque is the torque that does not produce an angular acceleration.
For example, the force applied in pedalling a cycle at a constant speed has a static torque with no acceleration.
Dynamic torque is the one that produces a rotation along with acceleration.
The shaft of a racing car accelerating from the start line produces an angular acceleration of the wheels due to dynamic torque.
