Importance of Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation:

The force of attraction between two massive bodies is known as gravitational  force. This is a long ranging force and a field force.

The attractional force is directly proportional to the product of their masses and  inversely proportional to the square of distance between them.

Universal Law of Gravitation

F = G m1m2/r2 m1, m2 = Masses of two                    bodies. r = Distance between two       bodies G = Universal        gravitational constant

 Gravity is responsible for the weight of the body and keeps us on the ground.

Importance of Newton's law of gravitation in daily life:

Planetary motion takes place due to gravity between the sun and planets.

Lunar motion around the earth.

Artificial satellite orbiting around earth due to force of gravity.Tidal waves originate.

We can walk on the surface of earth. It is to find the mass of earth.

It helps us to find orbital velocity and escape velocity of satellites.  It gives us Universal gravitational constant.

Existence of the solar system in the universe due to gravitational force between planets and sun.

Stability of everything in the universe.
